Pros:
Private off street parking ( Johnny and neighbor's driveway is the Only Parking ) . This course is private and on Johnny's property so it will be unlikely for you to see anyone else . Course owner johnny Sias might play with you on this course ( make sure you call ahead ) but he is likely to steer you to Crazy 8 instead . I played Lucky 8 on my own .This was Johnny's first designed and original course , circa 1983 . Lucky 8 uses #1 from Crazy 8 to start the round , and #18 for #2 . Then you cross over the gully to your left and start #3 and never cross his Crazy 8 course again . The course has extreme elevation changes throughout the 18 holes here . Lucky 8 is a wooded course that is shorter than Crazy 8 , but plays every bit as tight if not tighter and the hills are more extreme . The tee pads are natural , the signage primitive and really tells hole number , and the baskets are homemade but solid. The course has no trash receptacles , so carry out what you carry in . Playing solo and using the map , I was able to navigate all 18 holes on my own , except I couldn't find the basket to 11 , I think . The course has a pretty good flow to it , and uses a strong variety of drives and up shots . There is a fantastic finishing hole that plays an incredibly tight fairway left to right drive that takes you out of the wood behind Johnny Sias's house and into his backyard ( 306' ) . Other great holes are the tight fairway throw straight downhill ( #12 ) and #10 , a downhill that eventually breaks right to left on the side of a hill . My signature hole would be # 9 , 488' , with a row of trees to the right of the pin and random trees guarding the left . Clip a tree and you might roll downhill on the right maybe 150'+ like I did . This is a solid course. Allow at least 90 minutes + for a solo round . There is not going to be a friendlier and more knowledgeable host than Johnny Sias , 1986 World Champion .
Cons:
The course may be a shade more raw than Crazy 8 . Print a map or face the consequences without it ( or Johnny ) . Danger: If it rains , you will NOT be able to go up and down this course . The course takes technical to a whole new level . Definitely not cart friendly . Disc Risk : Medium to low . No real rough , just a chance of a rollaway .
Other Thoughts:
2 courses on private property ! Need I say much more ? I know that the equipment is a little primitive , but you are getting quality play from all of the holes . Lots of different shot selection here and if you are lucky , you will be able to sit down with Johnny for a while and he can talk disc golf adventures with you . Lots of fun factor here , along with the challenging design . I think that par here is 60 . If you can shoot that , then you have had a great day . Please . This is not a course for newbies , casuals or families .My Recommendation : Play This and Definitely Play Crazy 8 and make a long morning of it .
