Pros:
This course uses elevation to its advantage. Uses the tall grass rough to shape holes well.
This is a good place to work on your wind game.
Holes 4 and 16 have water threat and are fun holes.
Painted black rungs on the baskets to point you in the direction of the next tee.
Good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes.
There are a few holes where you can really air out a drive.
The fairways were mowed upon my visit to show you the layout of the holes.
There is fine gravel under the baskets to help with the roll-a-way putt threat.
Some blind pins from the tee to keep you on your toes.
This course uses what is available as best as is possible.
Cons:
Tees are uneven in several spots. This could lead to the twisting of an ankle. Hopefully more level or permanent tees are coming soon. No signage so no distances(again hopefully this is forthcoming).
No numbers on the baskets, not a big deal but if you get turned around this would help some.
This course is very wide open so there aren't many trees to make you shape lines here.
Disc loss is a real possibility with the tall grass rough. A spotter might be needed in spots.
The shots get repetitive after the first 4 holes.
Wind will definitely factor into your round here.
Paths on 2, 3, and 18 might be slick so heads up.
Other Thoughts:
This is a decent course that uses the elevation very well. Its just a shame that there aren't any trees in the fairways to make for more interesting lines to hit. The tall prairie grass will make you focus on your accuracy and the wind will keep you honest as well.
The shots over the water like holes 4 and 16 help spice things up a bit. Hopefully in the future the tee pad and signage issues will be remedied to help boost this course up a bit.
Worth a play if you are in the area and want to get in some good rounds on the prairie.
