Pros:
DISCatchers, all are in good shape.
None of the holes play close to the building.
Mostly wide open, so not much chance of losing a disc (although I almost lost one that I overcooked on #8).
Practice basket, right at the front of the school. If I had to pick up my kids in carpool, I'd be all over that!!
Cons:
No tees, no tee signs, no next tee signs.
A few of the holes are along a school road, easy to beat up your discs.
#2 and 3 were soggy when I was there.
Other Thoughts:
Very similar to nearby Bethel Elementary, in fact they are less than 4 miles apart. Pretty much wide open, long holes, probably not appropriate for young players, and not much challenge for older players.
I guess elementary kids are a little young to get too serious about the game, but, most other school campuses are so built up, there is not enough room for a course. Plenty of room here for a decent practice course.
Yes, I even found a few holes I liked here:
#7 - tee off on the track, to a guarded green under low hanging branches right near a large bush.
#8 - I walked around the school and teed from a sidewalk - across the playground! Only one there on a Saturday morning! Made for some fun shot shaping.
#9 - Tee near the side lot, about 200' to the basket on an upslope, with heavily overgrown OB directly behind the basket.
Nice easy finish after getting four courses (54 holes) in before lunch. So it was a short drive into Canton to hit the riverside BearWaters Brewing Company. I recommend the Sliding Rock, just be ready if you are downwind from the local paper mill!!
