Memory Lake

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 24, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

-- Good land for disc golf. Most holes are in view of the lake, and water is in play on 8 of the 18 holes. Plenty of trees but mostly off of the fairways, so there isn't a lot of shade. Elevation is well used with 9 of 18 holes playing uphill or downhill; some baskets are placed on slopes, making angle control crucial.
-- Concrete tee pads, 4x10.
-- Best holes are 1, 9, 13, 18. One is 185 uphill RHBH; if you're confident you can reach the basket, you can go straight at it, but coming up short leaves you in waist-high weeds. Nine is 204 feet slightly downhill with a few trees and thick rough on both sides and through a line of trees just short of the basket; Thirteen is 277 downhill through a double mando. Despite the dreaded double mando design flaw, the throw downhill to a basket on a peninsula ledge is great. Eighteen is 348 feet RHBH through a narrow gap in bushes or a wider/longer RHFH path over OB road.
-- First five hole are shorter than 275 feet, but don't be fooled. Six checks in at 351 feet, and three of the final five holes are 348 or longer; two of them are 450-plus.

Cons:

-- Tee signs look nice and have the necessary information, but the map depictions aren't always accurate, particularly in terms of how sharp of a turn is needed. This is really important because many baskets are blind from the tee. Twice I threw what I thought were really good shots, but I ended up pin high and 30 feet right of the basket.
-- Rough is bad. The fairways are either a gravel path or a mowed path. Get off of that, and you have a significant risk of losing a disc.
-- Fifteen has OB for the majority of the 207-foot fairway. You MUST clear the trees and road, or your're OB.
-- No. 3 is 174 feet downhill and has an unnecessary mando pole about halfway to the basket. The weeds/stickers on the right are punishment enough; the mando for design purposes is unnecessary.
-- Long walk 11-12. You are following a clear gravel path, but the distance will make you question if you are going the right direction.
-- No water, restroom or map.

Other Thoughts:

-- Beware getting to the course. UDisc directions sent me ¼ mile past the course to a private driveway. Once you are on County Road 402 and start seeing baskets on the right, take the first right turn and follow that road all the way to the end. No. 1 will be on your left teeing uphill, away from the water.
-- The walk from 13-14 can be confusing. If you're not paying attention, you'll think you need to backtrack up the fairway and follow the path hundreds of yards. However, if you go left toward the road, you'll see a small gate. A short walk on the road (County Road 402) takes you to the 14 tee pad.

Great flow 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 23, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course has one of the easiest to follow flows of any course you will ever play it is well mow and all you have to do is follow the mow line. Most of the baskets have brand new tee pads all of the holes have great signs. There is some nice elevation changes and a lot of different varieties of throws

Cons:

The rough is really rough and if there's any win no matter how good you are you will end up in the rough you should really try to use a bright disc. It would be super easy to lose a few in the high grass the fairways same tighter than they are because of it. hole 12 to 13 is a long walk and it is super hot with no shade

Other Thoughts:

It is we're stopping here and playing some of the maps don't say that you can park right in your whole one
