Pros:
I live in Toccoa, and I play here every couple weeks, probably. I think it's a moderately challenging course, with a few easy holes sprinkled in for those whose morale is hard-pressed. Almost every time I play here, the course is looking pretty good. It's in a beautiful, natural setting, and the upkeep is generally pretty solid. The holes play out in a variety of ways - not much repetition. It also stays pretty quiet out there (when camps aren't during the summer, that is); I've literally never run into another player on the course.
Cons:
The only things that could be considered cons aren't really negatives in my mind. It's only a 9-hole course, which can be a bummer when you want to play 18 (or more), but there's an easy fix for that - just play through 2 or 3 times, like I always do. That leads me to the other negative. It's at least a quarter-mile walk from Basket 9 back to Tee 1. I don't mind that at all, but this will detract from the course's value for a lot of people. I don't include these negatives in my rating, because you'll want to know up front that you're getting into a 9-hole course that will require extra walking, and I think the course upkeep and design deserve a rating of 4.5.
Other Thoughts:
I really enjoy this course, and the 9-hole aspect of it has often been beneficial. I've often been able to convince friends who don't want to play for as long as I do to play Camp Mikell with me; they bow out after 9 holes while I play 9 more, and they get a quick, short round in while I get to enjoy both the advantages of playing with friends and playing alone.
