Pros:

North Ridge Winery DGC features an available to the public 9 hole course. The course plays through the vineyard for the first two holes which is pretty cool. The next six play in the woods behind it with the last hole finishing in the yard area behind the main building. Good mix of differing hole shapes here with not a single one being completely wide open. The course has a little bit of elevation. Nothing too crazy or anything but not totally flat either, but pretty close.

The baskets are bright yellow Latitude 64 Pro baskets. You don't see these too often but they work great. Easy to see and they catch nicely. One basket and pin placement per hole.

Rubber mat tee pads. Better than natural, especially in the woods. They have their issues though. See cons below. One tee pad per hole.

Laminated paper tee signs at each hole. Very basic but serviceable for sure. Hole #, par and distance on each. These are bright yellow which match the baskets and are easy to spot from a distance. There's also plenty of next tee signs to help with navigation. Can't complain with what they have out here honestly.

Pretty solid design actually. The course plays through what are basically walking trails in the woods for holes 3-8. Very tight but fair lines. You'll actually need a full gamut of shots to score well out here. A couple FH and BH favorable holes and some that are dealer's choice. There's a Yurt next to hole 2's tee pad which is pretty cool. Never seen one in person before. Apparently there's a teepee or something out there too but we must've missed that.

The vineyard holes are unique. Gimmicky on the first one but still unique. You play through the entrance gate and need to make sure to not let the sheep out at the same time. First time playing in both a vineyard AND a sheep pen.

Cons:

The tee pads. These are rubber mats but more like a truck bedliner type of material. Better than natural since that'd be teeing off from mud for the most part, at least in the woods. That said, these things are lumpy and rumpled. Wasn't a fan of these whatsoever. Natural tees would actually be better in the drier season. Not great.

The woods holes are pretty tight on a few of them. Too tight really. It was only a couple but they're like throwing down a hallway for parts of them. Like I said, they're walking trails basically.

A couple muddy paths when it's rained recently and some straight up marsh areas just off the fairway out here. There was about a foot of standing water just off the (narrow) fairway of, I believe, hole 8. Just a wet area in general. Very possible to lose a disc here between the wet areas and just kind of thick rough in spots.

Very buggy which should be expected with all the swampy areas and the fact that it's Minnesota. Have bug spray available in the warmer months.

Other Thoughts:

I listed a lot of cons but this is still a fun course. It should be looked at more as a private backyard course more than a city park course since that's really what it is. It's supposed to be free to play if you purchase something. We bought two sodas but it didn't seem like they even cared one way or the other. The lady we talked to provided us with a map at the counter and even took the time to mark on the map the areas that would be muddy and gave us a quick explanation and run through.

The Winery has limited hours but the course can be played on times it's not open if you call ahead it sounds like. I felt like the price of under $5 for the chance to play here AND two bottles Sprecher sodas was beyond fair.

Not a must play but it's absolutely worth a visit for the unique factor of playing in a little vineyard. Fun course that's a little rough around the edges.
