This is a school course?

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 13, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

New Cement tee pads
New DD Baskets
2 pin locations per hole
Well defined fairways

Cons:

Tee posts are in, no signs yet
The rough is thick, I mean really thick. I spent half my time at this course looking for discs I threw off the fairway.

Other Thoughts:

I don't expect much when playing school yard courses. I don't read about a course other than making sure the course is in the ground before I get there mostly because I am going to play it anyways no matter what.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled up and it wasn't 9 baskets in a field.

First hole is right next to the parking area and is the most open hole throwing down a large hill with rough behind the basket.

Then you walk down a recently cleared trail to hole 2 that in the long position is very hard right, but a good hard right that is reachable.

Hole 3 is a short shot from the side of the hill in the trees across a small open area to a basket on the side of the hill in the tree's. This is your best ace run on the course.

Hole 4 is mostly open with rough on both sides of the open grassy area.

Hole 5 was in the long position and is on the side of the hill with very thick rough on the right and the hill on the left. Trust me, stay out of the rough, I found 2 other discs while looking for mine.

Hole 6 to 9 work your way back to the parking area down a grassy area with this rough on each side and a few trees to navigate. These holes are actually pretty good and all have short and long pin positions that would change how the hole is thrown.

would I play here again? Yes I would, this is one of, if not the best 9 hole school course I have played. (and i have played a LOT of them) I do recommend hitting this course is you find yourself in the area. I DO not think this course is kid friendly like most school courses should be.

Surprisingly fun

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 1, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

Concrete pads, pro level baskets. Great shot variety: straight, downhill, left to right, difficult greens, uphill, tunnel. Even has a hole (8) with a left or right option. Multiple pin locations on a few holes.

Cons:

As of 6/1/24 the sign posts are up but the signs are not. I'm sure they are coming. Transition from 1 to 2 took a minute to find.

Other Thoughts:

For a school course I was actually pleasantly surprised. As it wears in this is going to become a nice little gem.

In The Works

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 8, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nine white Veteran baskets on some incredibly varied land. Some clearing has been done for teeing areas on 2 and 3, and also the green of 3.

Good holes on the back stretch, 6-9 are all solid holes. 6-8 play between a bush-lined stream and the tree-lined property line with some elevation to make things spicy if you get a skip. Would make one heck of a par 5 going from 6's tee to 8's basket. Hole 9 is a hallway shot that opens up, but continues the strong uphill all the way. 1 is also a towering tee, way down to a basket parked right in front of some bushes.

Cons:

I'm having to edit this because this was the beta testing phase of the course as I had hoped. For now, it feels like the land isn't up to its potential, because the work is not done on it!

Currently, navigation isn't easy, tees are rough, and it seems like there should be more in the in-between of holes. I will be back once updates are done.

Other Thoughts:

I jumped the gun on my review, assuming this was the school throwing baskets in the ground and saying "here is a disk golf." I was wrong and I extend my apologies to Jordan who is doing most of the work on his own.

Don't play here yet, or you'll come off with the wrong impression as I did. There are plans to make this a very solid course, but it may take some time. Longer pins, concrete tees, and eventually another 9 holes on the land east of 1/9. I'm leaving this at a 1.0 for now, but know that is not and will not be the final rating.
