Pros:
Nine holes on a small church property.
Good concrete tees on most of the holes, with alternate tees also.
Pretty good mix of left and right holes through the woods with a couple of open holes.
Not much chance of losing a disc here.
Cons:
The baskets are not in great shape.
#1 fairway finishes on gravel lot, then #2 crosses that fairway.
#1 and #9 share the same fairway, not an issue unless two groups are playing at the same time.
Other Thoughts:
This course was an Eagle Scout project and one of the better ones I've seen. A full 9 unique holes on a small property, with concrete tees. The baskets were not in great shape, but that was probably the result of a limited budget. The design and hard work make up for that.
Most of the wooded holes follow a walking path, so they were cleared very well, but you could have to wait, if the path is being used.
The tee for #6 backs up to a residential lot, so I got to say hi to the homeowner. If I lived there, I'd be on this course all the time!
They did a good job of mixing the directions of the holes and even had a split fairway on #6. What little elevation there is in the woods was also used well.
As you come out of the woods for #9, you are teeing near #1 basket and going downhill, behind the church, to the basket beside #1 tee. There's a concrete sewer platform there, so you get to finish on a raised basket, just adding a little more variety.
All in all, a pretty good course design and execution. A good course for beginners and families. Be sure to follow the posted rules and show the church that we appreciate being able to play their course.
