Pros:
After playing several 9-hole courses over the past two years, I felt the need to update my review of this course. It is a GREAT little 9-hole course! The course is always in terrific condition. Yes, it iss a short course but the holes are well designed and the baskets are placed in areas that make it a bit challenging. If you are a grip it and rip it player, then this is not the course for you. If you want to work on technical shots or play with novice or beginners, then there is no 9-hole course in the triad area any better. There are two holes right at 300 ft but all the rest are around the 190 mark. Holes 1, 2 and 9 are open while holes 3-8 follow a crushed gravel path through the woods in a loop. Technical enough for a seasoned vet to enjoy but short enough for a beginner to not get too frustrated. Definitely a family course. The average golfer can get by with a mid-range and putter. There is a mando on hole 2 and an out of bounds on hole 9 that add a bit of difficulty. They have recently added bag hooks on trees by each tee box.
Cons:
It may be a bit too short and easy for some. The tee pads are mulch but there are plans to install concrete pads in the fall of 2019. Obviously, most of the course is wooded so If you happen to throw in one in the woods then be careful of snakes, ticks, etc. Signage is ok. It's short enough that you don't really have to look long for the next tee.
Other Thoughts:
I am reviewing this course based on other 9-hole courses I have played. It is not a 4,000+ ft 18 hole course so it should not be compared to those. It is a really nice course if you're looking to get in a quick round. No real space to expand so what you see now is what you get. Not as long or challenging as Bethel in W-S but worth playing if you're in the Kernersville area. This course hosted a 2018 Discraft Ace Race tournament to wonderful reviews. The course will host the 2019 tournament in September.
