Pros:
Actual baskets, on 8 of 9 holes.
Easy to follow course.
In-ground tee markers on most holes.
Good for beginners and families.
Cons:
Baskets are single chain.
Not much challenge to first 5 holes, short and open.
Other Thoughts:
The course makes a nice amenity/distraction from the pool. The first 5 holes play in the open, mostly on grass around the pool and sand volleyball court. I could see families taking a break from the pool and playing these holes.
Then the last 4 holes are in the woods and have slightly more challenge to them, the next step up after the first 5.
For what it is, it's not a bad layout. Easy to play, not very long, almost a "mini-course", great for getting kids hooked on the game. I don't see adults playing this more than once, unless they are with their kids.
I'm not going to bash this course, it has a purpose and serves that well. Wouldn't it be great if all neighborhood/club pools (that had the room) had DG courses on their property? Have youth DG teams that would play other "pool" teams? Sure would be a great way to grow the sport and get more courses!
