Another Mike Brown gem

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

2 cement tee pads for each hole
Baskets are still new
No thick rough like most of MB's courses

Cons:

The walk from 11 basket to 12 tee ticks me off.
Walking trails though some of the course

Other Thoughts:

First off, I mentioned I was there to play disc golf at the entrance gate. They gave me a map showing both courses that came in handy because cell service is pretty limited.

The course starts off next to the lake by the information center. Hole 2 is one of the must get birdies then you cross the lake over a foot bridge.

Hole 3 throws with with sidewalks marking OB and is actually a decent hole up the hill and to the right.

I LOVED hole 4, from the Blue you are throwing over a deep valley to a basket that is very reachable, HOWEVER you DO NOT want to overthrow this basket. It's a steep slope down to the lake. I fear a missed putt could role OB too.

You have a couple of longer holes with 5 and 6, then you hit a string of birdieable holes if you get the right now. Hole 11 throws back town a peninsula, but then you have to walk all they way back past your tee, across the road and towards the lake for a sweet lake shot

Hole 13 is a nice turnover shot over a small inlet of the lake.

Hole 14 is throwing though a lot of trees. It's one you just play for the 3.

15 is another lake shot, you actually throw downhill across the lake to the basket sitting on the bank on the other side. Another must get birdie

16 is another birdie shot then you have 17, it reachable, just don't overthrow it, drop off valley behind the basket will cost you a stroke.

In typical MB layout, hole 18 is long along the road. It goes over the crest of the hill. I smacked a tree on my drive and threw my second shot skipping down the road towards the basket. Still my worst played hole on the course.

Would I play here again? YES, while slightly longer than I like, (and that freaking long walk) The course flows rather well. I had a map but only needed it to find a couple of the holes. They recently cleaned up the course from a major storm that blew down a lot of trees. In fact hole 5's tee box had a tree laying on it (see pic I posted) But yes, I really enjoyed my round here and would like to play it again someday.
