Pros:
Beautiful, scenic wooded course with decent elevation changes for Florida, especially from blue tees (#2 and #9) and to red basket (#1) gold baskets (#6 and #8). Dual baskets and concrete tees on every hole. 15 of the 18 holes were seemingly carved out of the woods with the designer, Gregg Hosfeld, taking advantage of existing tree falls to make some unique, and just plain cool, approach shots like #7 and #15 gold. Probably the most under-rated feature of this course is the number of holes with distinct dual fairways. I'm not talking about a big tree that some people can play to the right with a backhand while others play to the left with a flick. I'm talking about completely different trails to the same basket where if someone on your card goes the anhyzer route and you take the hyzer one, you don't see them for 100 to 200 feet of the fairway!
Best bathrooms of any disc golf course in central Florida.
Local club members who take care of the maintenance that this City doesn't get to which keeps the course from becoming overgrown.
Excellent course for tournaments. Practice field. Parking lot can accommodate a large number of cars and baskets and tees pads are more than amply spaced so that people teeing off aren't at risk from shots on the previous hole when the course is full.
Cons:
None worth keeping you from playing this course. There's some broken glass on a couple fairways that is slowly being cleaned up by players a little at a time. If you are a lefthanded player without a forehand shot, or a righthanded player without a backhand, you may find the two water carry holes (#10 and #18) are brutally tough due to the severe slope towards the water.
Other Thoughts:
I played this course a couple times right after it opened and it was understandably very rough around the edges. When I went back after almost a year of not playing it, I was blown away by what a difference a year of improvements and beating in had made. The concrete pads are extremely well done and while the rough is still rough, it's no longer the 10 minute search and rescue mission right off the fairway that it was before the course got played a lot. Please consider the dates on earlier reviews and know that many of the earlier cons have been taken care of and if you are one of those people, like I was, who haven't played the course since its early days, go back! You will be impressed!
