Pros:
Baskets: All baskets are solid and well looked after. There is no graffiti on them which is common in some public parks.
Mowing: The course is set on a ball golf course and so all the fairways are managed by the parks team. No long grass to worry about.
Benches: being a public park there are lots of benches and bins around. I'm sure its coincidence, but virtually all tees have a bench nearby.
Cons:
Course Map: I couldn't not locate a course map on my visit. This made navigation difficult. I used the map on Udisc, which was good in places however still not that accurate for tee positions.
Tees: There are no tee signs showing the layout of each hole. Luckily (apart from hole 7) you can see all the baskets from the tee, but you may struggle to find the 2ftx2ft stone lying flat on the grass. If you are having problems I have uploaded photographs of all the tee positions so hopefully you can use the local landmarks to locate your next stone.
Other Thoughts:
This is a fun course to play, with a mix of short straight holes and a few challenging holes thrown in.
Hole 1: A short uphill hole, which kinks right at the end. A small pond is being built on the left so beware of this during windy conditions.
Hole 2: Another uphill shot, into a tunnel of trees. An OB path to your right should be avoided.
Hole 3: A short, flat hole with little challenge. If you throw too far left on your drive you may be impeded by the bush whilst putting.
Hole 4: Another short, flat hole, however this one is made tricky by the tree halfway down the hole whose branches lean out low across the optimum line to the basket
Hole 5: A slightly longer hole, into the trees. A really low ceiling around the basket can make your putts difficult
Hole 6: The signature hole on the course. Throw uphill, through the gap and under the overhanging pine branches. The basket is guarded by a weeping willow.
Hole 7: A blind tee shot, either Right over a large bush or Left around a tall tree. The basket is then guarded by 4-5 pine trees making your approach difficult too
Hole 8: A long straight shot. Don't get confused as there are 3 baskets in sight, you are aiming at the basket directly ahead, in the middle of the 2 trees.
Hole 9: A shot, but deceptive hole to finish. A low hanging pine to the right will catch lots of discs leaving you a longer putt than you expect
I really enjoyed this course. I invite others to come and experience it
