Pros:
- Really good signage with distance, next tee, OB and mandos marked.
- Copious benches
- Neat setting along the river
- Big, 5'x12' concrete tees that are nice and level for the most part.
- Bonus holes between five and six
- Very good flow for the most part. Never have to walk more than 100 yards between basket and next tee (if you know where to go)
- Not a lot of distance on most holes but really good variety. Multiple options and different lines for many holes and mandos/OB make it interesting.
- Multiple pin placements provide some variety and they are moved every few months.
- Water is really in play on many holes on this course with some holes right by the river, or over a creek/canal. Definitely affects preferred shot and disc selection
Cons:
- No real elevation change
- Would imagine that bugs could get bad in spring/summer.
- No grass fairways
- Can get crowded in peak hours with big groups
Other Thoughts:
Just moved to Grand Junction and have played this course several times so far. Kind of the go-to course for me in the area.
Have lost two discs and got one back from triple play records (they pay folks $2 to bring in used discs and charge you $2 to pick up).
There are bonus, unimproved holes over a wood bridge between holes 5 & 6 that are pretty fun to play, including one going through the clown's mouth of the underpass.
Great course for beginners, but also enough challenge to keep most people interested.
