Three throws from pros at the Copenhagen Open

Whoops forgot the reason I came to post here in the first place! Feldberg-- I was surprised how far from the chest he's pulling through and how little bend he has in his elbow. At first I thought, well, 450 is not far for him so we're not seeing his distance technique. But if that's the case...

Three throws from pros at the Copenhagen Open

I agree. There's so much going on in a short period of time that the frame by frame option allows one to analyze body position and timing sequence that would be impossible for anybody other than Blake to even see. I also downloaded rather quickly with my DSL line. Not super fast, but...

Getting Disc Out Of A Tree

Played a private tourney last year and the only injury came when a guy throwing a stick at a disc in a tree tried to catch the stick on the way down and put a big gash in his hand that needed stitches. Ouch. I think about that now, every time I throw a stick at a treed disc.

Ever play disc golf with a "Lid" (a Frisbee)?

Sorry, I guess I should have looked at Chuck's list before I posted! Putt'r is good up to 140 (bit light but I could make it work! ) Scanning the list, my memory was prodded and I realized that I played for a number of years with the ol' Whammo 71 mold before I moved on to the roc. Man I'd...

Ever play disc golf with a "Lid" (a Frisbee)?

Sheesh, now we know who the old guys are  I too played with a lid in the early days. It wasn't until '89 that I got a Roc and an 86 Softie. I'm surprised that the Polecat fits in this category! I've got a buddy at my local course who's nickname is polecat and he uses it to great...

    PAR

I guess for me the term "par" became meaningless a long, long, time ago. Maybe that's why I don't see it as odd to have a 1500' par 3 (even if Marcus and Christian cant pull out their putter after 3  ) Nothing, nothing at all. But since its all relative, holing out in 4 strokes is...

    Donate A Disc

Some good ideas here. I frequently give away discs on the course. Just the other day there was a 12 year old kid who's at the first tee while my buddies and I are flipping for doubles partners. I ask if he's by himself and does he want to play. (turns out his mom was at the skate park next...

    Getting Hit By A Disc

I've had some minor scrapes with flying discs and a few hazardous close calls. But the only time I was ever hit and hurt was getting hit with my own disc! How? Let me tell ya... About 6-7 years ago I threw my tee shot into a tree. Walked over to the tree, saw my disc about 15' up, bent over...

    PAR

I shot -3 last week. Did you play hole 9 as a 4 par? No. I played as 5 par like it says on the sign. Then you probably also played 7 as a 5 par, and 13, 15 and 18 as par fours. That's what the signs say. Well, to get your real score you need to add 7 strokes. So you shot 4 over...

Best Scores at your Local Courses

Condon Park Grass Valley CA, -11 (2x)(once with an ace on 8 ) Penn Valley CA, -14 (all short, yep only 4 pars! On fire with my rocs that day) BTW these are not easy pitch n' putt courses but are "shorter" technical courses (heavily treed) that I play all the time, so its more a matter of...

I seriously cant putt and it is killing me!

Aaron, don't know if yer missing by a lot or by a little, but usually when I'm missing its a matter of fine tuning. I settled in on a putting style a long, long time ago (one that's pretty uncommon and don't recommend to folks starting out) so I can't relate too well to your struggle to find...

    Wingnut Disc Golf Sac

Guess that makes me an honorary Squirrel. Wow, that's....an honor. Most of my initial thoughts on the drink holder are idiotic. I'd probably fit right in at your company. Seriously, it is a tough design challenge based on what you're trying to do. I'll get back with you when I have...

    Heel Rotation

Hint: keep reading, it at least starts getting closer to the topic :D http://stickitdg.com/gallery/albums/Pro-Men-Drives/timmy_gill.avi Watching this Timmy Gill clip recently posted in a current thread I was struck by how early in his run up he rotates his hips backward. Slowing down the...

    Wingnut Disc Golf Sac

That's very cool. And probably a good marketing move to boot. Let us know how it works out, Glock. Looks like a nice product, Wingnut. Couple of comments: 1) Durability--I've searching high and low for a *leather* sling bag cuz I'm tired of replacing my bag every year or two (even...

I need a durable overstable Roc

I don't know, when I'm in danger of going in the drink, I've taken to muttering, "find water, find water." Reverse psychology seems to keep the disc dry
