Crave/Hex is my old guy mid range combo. I love my Crave. Still breaking in and getting used to my Hex - hopefully it gets a bit less stable over time. Been throwing a friend’s Claymore, to prep for Trilogy Challenge - will be my first ever tournament! Claymore actually flies pretty nice for...
I have a slow arm. I find easiest distance for me is 150g Katanas and Terns. Easy to control for high speed discs - aerodynamic helps me. I max at 250-275’. Never tried a Cicada, but I love my Crave for under 200’.
I only throw backhand so far, but I love my Crave. You’re telling me, if/when I ever get a forehand, I’ll love it even more?! Dang, it just might be the best disc ever made! I ran it yesterday about 150’, around some trees, and dropped it on the pole. One of several good shots with it. It...
I think the travel bug is a thing, and it just never really bit me?!?!
I prefer activities I enjoy over traveling to places I have never been to look at something I have not seen before. I look, okay, I saw it, now let’s go play DG, or get a nice meal out, or go roller skating - do something I...
I agree, Geezer. Some new courses are fun, but I enjoy playing a course I like, learning the lines, figuring which disc works better for me where, and trying to improve my scores. Also, I am not big on spending a lot of time traveling. I play now and then at courses that are further away, but...
Tilted, hitting your numbers would be a game changer for me. My 7 speed maxes around 200’, and 12-13 speeds max around 250-275’. I guess I am an oddball - I actually throw them about equally well as far as hitting my lines. My game changer for now would be adding 30’ to my Katanas - that...
I Crave one really good 6.5 speed disc, and I have it. One of my favorite discs, but I definitely get more distance with higher speed stuff - especially Terns and Katanas.
But, I have the free Halo Star Mystere coming (along with a couple more Terns). It will be my first Mystere, and I am looking forward to seeing what it does.
I have been a fan of Terns for a long time. Very workable and easy to throw for such a high speed disc. I bag or have bagged different Terns around 150g, some that go consistently right, and some straight, and some left. That might be considered inconsistent, but one of the best discs for us...
I max out at 250-275’. I still struggle trying to get the disc to rip out - to get ‘snap’. When I throw, my hand automatically releases the disc at a certain point, and I have to fight back that instinct and try to keep my grip on the disc - force it to rip out. That is on drives. So far, on...
So, the putting tips video… Trying to paste U-Tube link below - I am not real tech savvy! His tips are not an exhaustive list - but he shares many tips, and the video turned me on to trying out lots of tips, and combinations of tips, which was fun, and eventually helped me find ‘my combination’.
One of the things that really helped me dial in my putting, besides getting a home basket and practicing a lot, was some nobody guy’s home video that contained all of the tips he had heard of - at least ten I think…. I just started trying out many tips, combinations of tips, to see what worked...
Updated: I focus on and aim at a particular link, which is my target. From 20' in, pretty well centered for height and side to side. At 25-30', I am starting to move that link up and right, with idea my putter/disc will hit about centered. At 35-40', I aim near upper right corner of basket...
Update: I used my home basket with measured distances to verify…. At 20' I barely move my link up and right from dead center. At 25-30' I move my focus/aim link up and right. Much past that, and I start to aim at the top right corner of the basket. By 40-50’ my aim is above and right of the...
