I have a champ glo whippet-X and it's super overstable. I rarely use it due to that. About the only thing it's good for is shorter flex shots. In hind site I'd have been better off spending that $$ else where.
And besides what's wrong with a new player wanting to throw an Ape? Better that they give it a try, see what it does, and realize it's not for them.
But I don't care what anyone else throws.
I picked up a first run 163g Vulcan about 2 weeks ago. I wasn't expecting much. But I've had some good success with the disc. It is very understable, but it seems to be consistant. Just drop the outside edge, and you get a nice hyzer flip. I haven't had too much trouble as far as the wind...
