    Golfer's Elbow

I've developed some snap recently but I must be doing something wrong because I've developed "medial epicondylitis," aka golfer's or pitcher's elbow. I have slight pain, but mainly soreness and weakness at the bottom of my elbow, the "ball" under the elbow is very tender. I feel weakness in grip...

    No Playoffs?

I played a tourney yesterday morning and finished in a 3 way tie for first. Just a local club tourney, small event. The TD announced the players split the cash prize and bag tags would be awarded based on the previous order (since I was lowest before, I got the 3 tag). There was no playoff. The...

    Putter for Hyzerflips

DX XD is really good, not very durable though. DX Classic Roc is great for hyzerflips and it's durable and versatile. I know some guys use it as thier main putter, but it's a great disc for anything up to 250ft.

    NorCal Road Trip

The course in Napa is really nice. It's fairly close to Stafford, if you played Golden Gate in the early morning (maybe a good idea that's a busy course), then hit Stafford at midday you could probably get to Napa in time to play all three in one day.

    Working out while playing

Be careful adding weight to your bag, lifting and holding weights in awkward positions leads to injury quite easily. When I think of the ways I carry my bag, it would only be a matter of time before I strained an oblique or lower back muscle, most likely when picking up and putting down the bag...

pot smoking, beer drinkin, cigarette smoking hell even swear

Millions of women play ball golf, as do millions of blue collar guys, probably in numbers high enough to make rich white guys a minority. I love DG as much as the next guy but what's the point in criticizing ball golf? It's a great sport to play, and the only one I can play with my 68 yr old...

    Snap 2009 (NEW video added)

Just watched a pretty good video of some of these scandinavian guys playing, in HD quality it's really good footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xB0ZVh7soY I am particularly impressed by Joonas Hynönen especially around 9:35 mark, great camera angle to examine his technique, very close to...

    Forehand and Backhand

For drives and approaches I'll use BH or FH depending on the line. Putting it's 99% pitch-putt, in the rare instances there's an obstacle that prevents a pitch I can turbo fairly well. I think it's important to throw both since there are some line shapes that only a FH can accomplish, like an...

    Use of the flick??

A friend of mine gave me a 175 Z Flick and it's strictly a windy day disc. I have above average D and can't really get the thing to truly flex out, it pulls so hard left there's no chance for any glide, it just wants to dive and dive hard. However I played a tourney last December in vicious wind...

    Uh Oh

When I first got into disc golf the Gazelle was a standard driver and the Teebird and Eagle were the upper echelon drivers. Now things have just gotten ridiculous. The thought that the Gazelle is dead is making me sad, not only for myself because I was a fan of the disc, but for others who are...

    Hitting higher lines

By throwing it higher it sounds like you've discovered how to get good glide. All the discs you mention get great glide and need to get up in the air to do thier thing, especially something like the Sidewinder. As far as height translating into extra D, check out how high these guys throw on...

Decision Making on the Tee or the Lie

Depending on the branches above that are cropped out of the photo, it looks like a forehand spike hyzer off the tee. I'd put it out really high, with as much hyzer as physically possible, with a Firebird or Wraith. With this line I'll try to cut the corner as sharp as I can. Would probably end...

Decision Making on the Tee or the Lie

I'd go with the forehand shot. Depending on the wind, could be Eagle-X or Firebird. Take it down the left side with some hyzer and skip it up the slope towards the basket.

    Distance loss at Sea Level

In higher altitudes discs fly faster and at lower altitudes they get more glide (at least in my experience), so there's a bit of a trade-off there. I have similar power, play in Reno/Tahoe at 4500-6500ft and go down and play in Bay area all the time, and there is a difference in the way the disc...

    Driver Blues

The Beast or Valk are good bets, and if you want immediate results I suggest getting a lighter one, 150-160 range. What are your problems with Wraith/Orc/Starfire?
