Solid advice from Sidewinder. I'd also like to add don't pick up your plant foot when doing a standstill throw. It may be tough at first and you might feel like you griplock a lot or let them go early. Stick with those putters just throwing hundred foot shots (or whatever's comfortable)...
You should work on "pulling through" with your drives. Focus on pulling along a straight line and not letting the disc come outside that line where you start "whipping" the disc. Overall good follow through and I think when the snow melts and it's not so slippery you can get a longer reach...
I'm wearing lots of layers when I go out. I fill my bag with extra clothes that can go on or come off depending on how warm I get. Good socks and a nice pair of gloves or mittens go a long way.
Also how many of you actually put ribbons on your disc for the snow? I've thought about it for...
Looks like you don't get a lot of leg drive to transfer through your hips. I focus on "pushing" myself through my plant leg. It's more of a forward motion than a spin, you will rotate naturally. Focus on some 50% upshots with no run-up and work your way up until your're throwing about 80-90%...
I'd like to see disc golf get more recognition from notable companies. Keen has already shown some interest. Companies like Cliff Bar, Nike/Reebok/Addidas/some larger clothing company, etc will help the outreach of the sport past what disc golf originated companies have. Dynamic Discs is...
I think of throwing an anhyzer by leaning back and releasing the disc a little late almost to where you would think you would be throwing it at the ground. You have to get the angle right but if you start with putters and mids, more understable discs, you'll learn the throw much faster.
