Mine are red with white freak stamps, also have a red test config. champystar, and 1 yellow freak stamp that is champystar, but not quite as much as the reds.
Oh yeah, for discs slower than Orc/PD that I've tried for straight distance/control, I would recommend Eagles, Z Stalkers, Teebirds, and depending on your form/how hard you're throwing, heavier ESP XL's or Z XL's.
If it feels good in your hand, and you aren't already attached to Destroyers and/or Wraiths, why not give it a try?
To make each less stable at low speeds (less fade), they put a Vulcan top on a Destroyer bottom, to form the Teedevil, and Vulcan top/Wraith bottom to for the Archon, I believe...
I don't think you can go wrong with S-PD's.
I'd suggest lighter and/or lower PLH S-PD's to fit the "flippier PD" bill.
Yellow freak stamps seemed to be flippiest for me, and orange was moderate stability, soon turned to flippier, while red was the most stable of the three colors, but PLH rules...
I cannot recommend a champ. gator with a bead, but a beadless star gator, you will not regret.
Same goes for a flat ESP Zone.
Flat Z Wasps also feel great to me, as far as beaded mids. Much better feel than Rocs, IMO, for sidearm shots.
It depends on the conditions/hole, and type of shot you prefer throwing, but it's nice to have dependable power-down sidearm skills with eagles/firebirds/teebirds/pd's, etc. and finesse/power skills with mids like buzzzes, wasps/rocs, gators, zones etc.
If you have to throw a standstill shot...
Being a huge fan of the old, pearly champion plastic from Innova, I'm wondering what the Viking flies like, because I might have a spot in my bag for it.
Do they fly similarly to S-PD's or non-first run C-PD's at all?
I'm thinking of using them for anny flicks that hold the anny line, rather...
As far as MPH goes, I've participated in the MPH contest at the Vibram Open (throwing forehand, which is my strength) and watched everyone else throw backhand, including some 360's. It was with a lid, which was frustrating, esp. forehand, but I threw the shit out of that thing like I would in a...
Star Destroyer.
DGA Proline Hurricanes and Discraft ESP Forces are very comparable to the Star Destroyer, and awesome.
If you need more stability to fight headwinds or hide form flaws, or because you enjoy throwing with all your might, then Millennium Quasars and Discmania C-PD2's are both...
I watched a guy on my card at the usdgc throw it across the water at the basket on hole 5, and was impressed when he told me what disc it was (star stamped star teedevil). Thrown flat, full power or close to it, with maybe 25-30 ft. of height, and little wind, it went 400' or a little less, on...
I fondled one at a local tourney last weekend, and I'm really excited for the Sole. Looks like a beadless aviar, and I'd expect it flies pretty similarly.
