That would be very interesting and since John told us every year we went there that he has never disc golfed, maybe he did physical labor to "create" them but highly highly doubtful he had the idea or knowledge to make those and think it over about how good the holes/courses would be.
Accurate!
They also probably don't want random dudes running around doing "maintenance" on random things and having it all organized is a HUGE thing that's important for everyone and everything. I think the takeaway here is there sounds like a ton of people willing to help, it's just a matter...
I paid $60 and got nothing out of it and no refund.
Slightly less of a story than Jarens excellent story.
On a serious note, I've never been more excited for the news. Hopefully it all goes smoothly and easily but only time will tell.
It's nothing super special or unique, but I do enjoy a good round of Woodland Green if for no other reason it can be done quickest when i play with the group of 6 of us that used to go there annually.
Having met and know MM, I have absolutely no reason not to believe him. That said, I also wouldn't be surprised if John doesn't go down easily and if things prolong for years. Wish I knew if MM was just buying the (little) property John owns, or some of the surrounding property too, or if none...
I recently moved out of WI but likely moving back to northern area. I basically wanted to say that Mountain Man is one of the most genuine/honest/nice/great guys who has put in tons of work on courses and done nothing but gone above and beyond for anything disc golf. I know nothing about this...
Especially because I assume this is/was somewhat of a destination place where you'd meet up with a good amount of other players. Playing these courses with 4-6 people on a card as I presume most probably do, takes so much time. I know in my less than advanced talent group it's difficult to get...
I've also played what I call Bearland Green, combo of I think bear front 11 or something and then a slight walk over to woodland to finish another like 9 holes or something, idk it's been a few years. Soon they'll be advertising 20+ courses!
Couldn't agree more. I assumed that's the reasons for accepting donations? Forcing people to pay I personally believe will bring the number of people who watch down a lot, and at that point if people drop Patreon and force to pay per event, their money flow I would predict to be about the same...
It seems strange to me to hear the disc golf media typically say they just do this to grow the sport or because they love the sport and want to support it somehow, or for ANY and ALL reason besides money...yet here we are everybody looking for money for content they produce while covering disc golf.
Funny this was one thing I thought of too, but then idk how it would work with swear words and things of that nature when they are streaming on Youtube. Maybe it doesn't matter, maybe it does I have no idea but that would be kind of neat.
