I had a beat Pro D Wasp for a while but, unfortunately, I lost it one day. I have an Elite-X Buzzz that flies exactly like my lost Wasp so it's not a big deal but if I lose that then I'm SOL.
If you're finding that the Buzzz just doesn't do it for you, then definitely take the time to beat...
I haven't seen you throw or faced the winds that you have but if you can't trust a new, max weight Z Wasp to hold up in a headwind, then you should step up to a driver. I don't know what specific mold would work best for you but from my forehanding experience, the Z Wasp handles torque better...
Well, from a hypothetical standpoint concerning the molds that I own now,
175g Tsunami for those really wind days
175g SOLF
175g Champ Eagle-X
178g Z Wasp
169g Pro D Wasp
174g SS Wizard
165g Chief (It's just a domey Wizard, right?)
I use mine all the time. I usually pull it out when I'm in the shule or for severe downhill approaches, although with enough ceiling I can do plenty of other shots with it, too. Admittedly, though, it's not pulled it out very often when I'm having a good round, more for those days when I can't...
I don't know where you live but if you're lucky, then you could just go into the woods and pick some jewelweed. Take the entire plant and rub it all over the spots that you think are afflicted/are likely to become afflicted. I've heard that it's better as a preventative than as an after the...
It doesn't really matter, from my experience. Champ plastic or the comparable equivalent suck to find during the spring/summer if they're any kind of green. Whether it's opaque, pearly, translucent, candy, new, used, if it's green and Champ, it's something you'll want to keep on the fairway...
Maybe a base-plastic Predator to compliment the Z Cyclone for your #4 spot? The Z Cyclone will definitely fill that spot nicely for most courses but it seems like your missing a moderately overstable disc that is "long", from a new technology/design standpoint.
Also, I love the Viking but 150...
If the Max works for your overstable needs, great.
How do your OLFs compare to your Teerex? It seems like a new, heavyweight OLF would work just as well as a Rex for most shots.
The Destroyer will be more overstable than the Starfire but will eventually beat up to a similar stability. From my experience, the Pro Starfire (which is also known as an SL) will be more understable out of the box so it might fit a temporary niche. If you find yourself liking the Destroyer...
I would think that your XL will eventually overlap with your Eagles, once they get beat up. Also, if you're not throwing Eagle-Xs, then you're wasting your time.
Definitely be careful about where you throw green discs. It's something that you'll have to judge situation to situation but I've found that right about now is the worst time to throw a green disc. You can get away with it in the fall and winter but spring and summer suck for candy green...
Heh, I bust my Whitler out in winds all the time. Mind you, I have to read the wind correctly but thankfully my home course is in the woods--winds don't really penetrate through the trees and such.
