I played Farris the other day. It's an enjoyable little course. I think locals and beginners will dig it. There's some fun wooded holes and a couple of open ones.
Farris does give you some opportunities to bomb but there's a stretch where it gets a little repetitive. Holes 5-8 (IIRC) do...
Played there for the first time yesterday. Beautiful, challenging, and fun. Very impressed. Hole 9 from the Blues might be one of the best in all of NC.
What a nice day of golf. Brother Dave and I ended up getting four courses in. Shoally Creek was awesome, Pipeline was a butt-kicker, Tyger River was fun (though I don't think I've ever seen a more contrasting front/back nine in all my life), and USC-Upstate was rather quirky. Will definitely...

I played this little gem for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it. This place, combined with Bradford/Bracketts, makes a strong one/two punch. 1978, you're more than welcome to come design courses in the Triad.:thmbup:

Finally made it up to Ft. Hamby today. The course isn't quite open for business. I did drive around it and walked a couple of the fairways. Course pretty much done except for tee signs. I've got a good feeling about it. Wooded with some nice elevation change.
