Yo!
Now there is a lot of talk about this topic going on outside and inside the internets. Probably here too, but I didn't find a topic specially dedicated to this. Buuut if I just missed it, you can link it here. :)
Anyhoo.
What is your opinion about the stiffness of a PUTTING putter, inside...
I would like to know.
Other than the lack of bead on Pig... What is the difference between the Rhyno and the Pig.
They're both ridiculously stable, but is there a real difference between them?
Is either longer, more stable or fades more, etc..?
Thanks in advance!
I'll keep em in my car Jubs, in case we ran into each other this summer. Maybe in some tournament. 8) I got two soft transparent protons. Very overstable, insanely long and with a big fade.
I trained with the IONs a bit this winter, indoors. And they worked great...indoors.
Now that the snow is pretty much gone and DG is what it should be, I've found that an ION is indeed best kept indoors. Or just used on those dry summer days, when there is no moisture in air or on ground. I bet...
Mine is an orange one. Pretty tall dome, nice stiff, yet surprisingly grippy plastic... A lot grippier than the S-line at least. 8)
The fade is pretty much non-existent, then again I haven't thrown Leos much, but think of a seasoned Star TL.
Handles a lot more power than the S-line. And glides...
Well compared to a Rhyno or Jokeri its not. I was just shocked to notice that new soft ION is more overstable and fades more than a new P2.
And quite frankly, I like it. :)
ION has pretty much taken over the shots I would normally do with a P2. Which are the long, standing still, putter...
Soft ones are much easier to approach, that was my point.
Everyone I have showed my medium ION, have told me that it is way too slippery and freakishly hard. And this includes some of the top players in the country...So its not just my sole opinion.
And the comment from the soft ION has usually...
And hopefully they make a soft version of this one too...
I don't get it. Its like MVP wants to shoot themselves in the leg.
They make medium discs first, and 90% of the customers (this is just a random number I made up) get bored with the lack of grip.
Or do the folk beyond the pond have...
There are stiff/clear flat C-MD2s. I've seen a few of them, at least a couple of lime green ones and yellows, and a few of a light red color, I would say "light salmon"...
I had 3 of the salmon colored ones, 2 were really stable, just like my pink gummy ones, and one was surprisingly...
"I “feel” this is a GOOD thing!
Some zombie TV/fluoride heads could get hit in the head with said recreational projectiles and get knocked out of their stupor, that would be BAD.
And an innocent “citizen” could step into a hole in the sand and break a leg!
HORRORS!
Get with the program comrades...
I know this isn't basically about Base vs Premium plastic putters...
But, whats the deal with really hard putters, and why do people love them so much? I mean for putting, not driving/approaching.
Pros say its because a hard putter gives more consistent release. Ok. I can understand that...
