Been a while....
Since I posted but I’ve been out doing field work about 3-4 times a week. I played the local course for the first time and it killed me. Front 9 I was +15 and pretty souls destroying. On the back 9 I settled and was only +6 which raised the spirits.
Played a couple of courses...
First round
Took my first steps onto a disc golf course after throwing in a field for a couple of months.
It was frustrating, mystifying and a lot of fun. I started off nose up with everything and struggling to deal with the wind. Missed a bunch of puts I should have gotten close to. High...
Session 13
Managed to get my first disc over 250ft today. Not the conventional way, but a backhand roller with a Beast at 254ft. Archangel was 2 ft behind.
Best with a normal backhand is 243ft with a light Teebird.
Slow but steady progress. Had about 13 sessions throwing now. Still not ready...
WEEK 4
Saturday
Took some video and geeeeez.... I’m so fat, and slow on the turn! Where did the athlete go!
Anyway, added another 16 feet to my furthest throw, 230ft with a lightweight Valkyrie. The Beast and the Valkyrie were consistently the furthest all day. My Leopard is still one of my...
Out again this morning for my 3rd session and again was much more consistent. I did have a problem with getting the nose up too much but my worst throws from each set were better than last weeks worst throws.
Instead of only getting one to 200ft, I got a few. 214ft is the new best with a...
Took the discs out for a 2nd time and after changing my grip, got much more consistent results.
Managed to get my first 200ft throw (Had 2 actually but one of them was a backhand roller) with the Leopard.
I’m guessing it’s not by accident at the lightest two discs I have are going the...
Managed to get and throw for the first time ever today. By far, the discs that I threw the best and furthest were the two Leopards.
Got a couple of throws out to 170ft, with control too. Struggled getting any distance out of most of the others.
So I finally managed to get out to the local school fields and throw discs for the first time ever. I have a Valkyrie, Buzzz. A couple of leopards, a shark, a Saint, a fuse, and two destroyers which as foretold by all of you were hard to control period.
After figuring out my grip was all...
Totally new to disc golf. Got a basket in the back yard to practice putting.
I have 7 discs:
2 distance drivers - both Destroyers
2 midrange - Shark and a buzz
1 fairway driver - Leopard
2 Putters - 1 Aviar putt and approach; 1 judge putter
Is this ok for me to start with?
Any advice welcome!!
