I don't know that Beech Mountain would be at the caliber of the others on this list but I can tell you that Ashe Co. Park and Highland Hills are defnitely worth your time!!!!

Great Beginner Course
Beginner level course, easy to navigate.
Great tee signs, concrete tees and nice baskets.
There are two parking lots for you to park. One lot begins at hole #1 and the other has restrooms for you to use.
Creek is not really in play which could be a plus for beginners...
Maybe once or twice a month and I play anywhere from 20 -25 rounds in that amount of time. As I'm getting much better with putting this season, I've learned to lay up more and play it safe rather than go for it all the time when the chances simply aren't there.

A must play if in Charlotte!!
Course is fairly easy to navigate.
Tee pads and signs at every hole. Benches and trash cans at most holes.
This course unlike some others in the Charlotte area is not as crowded.
Course is secluded from the rest of the park.
Course provides a variety of holes...

Nice baskets for a campus course
Dirt tees
No tees signs whatsoever making it difficult to navigate...

Pretty much every hole is an ace hole

Very short tee pads. Not that you really need a long tee...
Easy Scorecard Pro is the best scorecard app out there for Android. It's very consistent with the pars and hole distances. It even will give you the address and directions to the course.
Been playing regularly since 2010, however no aces to date. I do know they will come to me eventually. Just gotta go out and keep chucking plastic.
Thanks for the input guys. I decided to buy a Champion Firebird now for a backup since I use that disc so much in a given round. After hearing the input about the glide of the Star Firebird, I'm thinking of purchasing one of them as well. That might be later down the road though....
