I quite like my Ping/Charge. The plastic is great, very durable and grippy. It's been in the bag from day 1.
I've been only impressed with the folks at Tobu, they have been professional and when compared with some of the other random startups that are still around, I think Tobu will do just...
I used to throw the Rhyno, but it wasn't shallow enough and half the time they are domey.
Now I go with a Breaker or a Shaman.
The Breaker is about as flat and shallow as you can get.
If I need less beef I go with the Shaman, also really flat and shallow, very straight doesn't get enough love.
My beeper isn't very loud. I was out in a forest type course and the birds chirping were louder than the disc beeping. I almost lost it a couple times. It's false sense of security, I throw but think that I don't need to pay attention to where it lands because it has a tracker on it.
Mine...
Got mine yesterday, I'm in Oregon so I can't imagine you'd be much farther away. Hopefully you get it today.
I was surprised at the fairway-likeness of it. I too was thinking Destroyer/Wraith.
Despite the rim config it flies a lot like my beat pro wraith, I've only thrown it a bit, i'll spend...
I funded the Tobu kickstarter and am a beta tester. Overall I'm impressed. Good work from a brand new company. Here's the email I sent them about the disc:
-how do you like the plastic?
Love the plastic. Great grip, looks good. I live in Oregon where everything is always wet, even if it hasn't...
I had a champ starfire I threw for almost 4 years. I loved that thing. I could crank on it all I wanted, no turning over. The fade was predictable but not too pronounced. I had that disc dialed in.
Then one winter morning, I was playing in 2 feet of snow. Chucked that sucker farther than I...
I love my 164g Wrath. It flies very similar to my 166g fission volt. I can see why it doesn't get much love, seeing as it flies a lot like the very popular volt.
I find myself reaching for the Wrath more than the Volt though, I feel a bit more comfortable on tight or low ceiling shots with the...
Got a 166g Fission Volt and 164g wrath a couple weeks ago. My first time giving MVP a shot. Long story short, I'm sold. They've been kicking out drivers that I've thrown for years. I find myself throwing the volt for darn near every drive on the course. Time to start bagging the overmold.
The...
New pic on kickstarter:
I'm actually pretty excited for the textured rim. The main reason I throw discraft/DGA is for the texture the lettering gives. It makes me a little sad when I get a discraft disc without the lettering.
I hope Tobu make it, I think they have great ideas. Of all the...
I think you'd want the disc do be designed with the tracker in mind. Even if they slimmed it down and put it on a 165g destroyer, its not going to fly like a 175g destroyer.
For me to use it I'd want it to be part of the disc. If nothing else for constancy's sake. I spend far too long trying...
Tough crowd. I hope they do well. It's a great idea. I also really like the idea of the textured inner rim. I might buy a couple just for that.
I do think they'll have a hard time selling them for $30. I understand the, "not losing discs saves you money" thing, but I rarely pay more than $14 a...
