Old Farts Only 40+ (no kids allowed)

May I use those terms, too. I'm 76 and a 200' drive is now a dream.

Thank you, Jeff. I was going by the DGCR interactive map and it showed nothing at Fort Stevens and, not knowing the proper name, I couldn't find anything else.

Is the course still there? It seems to have disappeared from DGCR but I saw an announcement last year that it had expanded from 9 to 18 holes. I'm going to be in the area in September and wanted to play it again.

2.00 star(s) Not as challenging as it was It's an easily accessible course, in a mixed-use park. There's a large course map by the parking lot, all holes have their own tee signs, and all tees are easy to find. Most holes are safe throws, when thrown properly, and difficult to lose a disc on. The City of...

Review by mpittscampbell in course Bicentennial Park

3.00 star(s) Worth a stop "Here, birdie, birdie, birdie!" Leave your drivers at home and bring mids and a putter. This is a short course, and even I, at my current level of inexperience and inability, parred most and birdied one. This is an excellent course for amateurs, not long but requiring control, and a...

    Saturday morning random-flip doubles

May 23, 2024. Still going, 7 years later. Weekly informal doubles round every Saturday morning, rain or shine. There is an optional $5 buy-in for the game pot and a $1 buy-in for the $100 ace pot. We gather at Tee #1 in the northwest corner of the parking lot for the Capella By The Sea.

1.50 star(s) Another "Where's the Basket?" park Beautiful setting, good range of holes from straight-in to challenging. Uncrowded on a weekday afternoon but we saw about a half-dozen other people using the course. Very bad signage, map was of little help. Hole #1 has you firing directly across the path...

1.50 star(s) Let's play 'Where's the Basket?' Beautiful park. Course is acceptable as far as difficulty and layout. (I'm too new to dg be a good judge but I won't ding a course just because some holes are beyond my ability). TERRIBLE signage basically due to vandalism & neglect. A fair amount of trash on the...

3.50 star(s) Fun, lovely, & challenging I think the earlier commentators have hit the technical pros and cons very well. The course was very challenging to someone of my limited experience and was extremely enjoyable. I had the course to myself on a Thursday noon. Hole layout as you come into the lower...

4.00 star(s) Wonderful course I'm not going to duplicate much of what other reviewers have said about the beauty of the course, the admirable mixture of ease, difficulty, and length on the 18 holes. It's a wonderful course for a hot day, as almost the entire course is played under the shade of the redwoods...
