yes, lets hope that this will be over soon and that it will be milder than it seems to be...
yes, that was my - and i guess everybodys - problem too in the beginning running up. keeping sideways in rhythm on the toes does the trick. but like every change in form...start real slow and its ok...
It felt always right for me... and it it was oh so wrong...! :D
i now think the trick is, when trying to change form, it has to be arkward for quite a long time until it feels arkward to try to throw the old style. and a couple of hundred discs later i start not to think about it and it gets...
in my experience, the hardest thing about reaching a decent form is too leave bad habits behind. its like teaching people to cough into their elbow instead of the hand... evreybody knows its better... but to change it, when a cough occures is sometimes hard...
the pendulum before the reachback...
forgot the videos :)

this was such a game changer for me! grab something realy heavy and mimic that...then you feel the brace we all try to achieve. :)
yeah. if you crow-hop or x-step - its the rhythm and the width of the last 3 steps. the last step into the brace demands a tiny pause if you will. watch danny lindahls video. its about to stay sideways and to get the right rhythm.
for a RHBH I "start" just the x-step like this. should...
hm. i see paul lifting his left arm, before it moves in the other direction. i consider that as a little whip. and marc is doing it as well. small movement, but its there. of course your elbows shouldn't meet behind you. "behind the back" is too far, yes. ;) but this little movement helps me to...
and it forces you not to be that upright. :) compare the last schusterick and the second last lizotte with your posture in the power pocket. it makes quiet a difference. at least for me.
maybe you could try to use your left arm to give more momentum from the reach back towards the target line in front of you instead of crawling behind your body? should give more distance and more balance.
hm. i'm not sure.
1.the swinging in the video above from maJsty14 is al but no dynamic motion, ins't it? its just swinging around, no pendulum, as i see it. and the pendulum goes back and forth and boom, not shaky shaky in the front and to the right? ;)
thats what i mean. of couse its all one...
Aloha maJsty14,
what i noticed in your video above:
swinging the disc back and forth does nothing but complicate the whole thing...aim, lock the wrist position, but stay relaxed the same time.
don't grip too hard before you are in the powerpocket...thats the time to hold on strong to the...
i mean the graphics you made. i m too upright from the beginning on. you are more bend over. you are more compact that way. balance will be different, i guess. and even better with the back leg properly envolved.
still a long way to go! :)
hi,
i think the last step is too small and too fast. make it a couple of inches wider and lean a bit more forward.
i hope i m not annoying recommending the loop ghost stuff, but this it what helped me a lot to learn how to "feel the brace". :) grab something heavy and swing that around or throw...
yeah! looks like a little progress! :) keep on working at one thing at a time... i nerver came to a result with doing everything together and always trying too hard! :)
