Ok cant figure out how to quote on the app…
But @sidewinder (ok cant do anything on the app…)
Why the analogy to walking? When I walk the disc does t go 400 feet. When I throw it does. So Im unsure where the value is in that parallel, please explain.
Do you not want the front knee to extend...
Of note: Im defending my stuff… what Brian seems to be teaching with Jason E sketched me out at times too. Complete containment with no release of the front foot seems unsafe to me.
Re: power output of this move.
What move are you talking about?
If youre talking about Weismann’s stuff, I honestly dont know anymore. I kinda filled in the gaps and assumed him and me were after the same motion, but Im not sure anymore. Sebastians throw seems pretty inline with my ideas of...
Most of the folks I work with arent capable of generating half the power you do in that drill, Blitz. Thus I think the cause for concern is lower in their case…
@Clint Easterly thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Im also glad you're here. Ill echo Brychanus and say that I am entirely interested in mechanics and nothing here is personal. As we have talked about I have chosen that being kind and respectful and maintaining our friendship is of infinitely...
Word. It can totally get weird, especially when I have basically zero understanding of proper physics of rotational stuff. Im just going on intuition and likely not using the right terms. I get that the thing I am pointing out is likely not an actual axis as far as the physics would say.
My...
Here is some jet-lagged musings on what Im thinking about the axis.
I see way more of the value of the Seabas model now though.
I am absolutely not trying to model a whole throw or a correct throw with my OLD or this axis model. I am just trying to get folks to brace the way I have felt it...
Ok. Say more about ‘tilt properly in the backswing’
Im on team shift underneath, great way to say that. I get what the brace side wants to look like… im not super clear on the x step balance side yet, but getting closer to understanding.
Which post #s were you curious about my responses to? Those last two you quoted or some others?
I would very much like ti respond to about everything in this thread… and I feel like I read about 40 post worth responding to.
I also skimmed the ‘booty pop’ ones, but from my skim, I really get...
@sidewinder22 Im not teaching Weissmans rear leg spin and I feel thats a sketchy way to accomplish what he uses it for. But it does work to shift peoples understanding away from a rotational hip move (ironically) and towards a more lateral shift into the brace.
I think that may be helpful for...
Holy crap… so much good idea throwing going on here.
Im travelling for the next week and wont have time to properly respond to all of this, but its awesome. (Jet lag at least gave me time to read it all, but there is way too much I want to respond to…)
For now: @Brychanus wow, thanks for the...
for clarity after reading hyzerroc’s posts:
Intentional active twisting of hips - not a thing (i think)
Intentional twisting of LEG to allow hip to rotate more snappily - do it active to learn the motion, then it will gradually chill out and end up subconscious in your final throw.
Its the same idea as internally rotating your following arm to ‘deweight’ the rear shoulder so it can rotate through faster.
The leg twist ends up being a pretty passive thing, bit doing it actively gets you familiar with the motion. It just allows the rear hip to snap forward more sharply and...
And the point of the magenta line idea is that it allows the front leg to act as a piston resisting the ground and adding snap to the rotation around the magenta line. The front leg is NOT included in that rotation... but then it is included in the yellow axis an instant later. The axis shifts...
