ledgestone started today

mpo is playing 4 rounds at eureka temp

fpo is playing 4 rounds at sunset hills

no one cares about the other 2000 people

the coordination to make this happen to take over peoria has to be pretty incredible

Not as enthused about the MPO throwing all 4 rounds at the same course. I assume Northwoods Park is back in the mix for 2025, no?

Anyone know why Ricky isn't playing?

He usually does well in Peoria, and he's been on a tear since Krokhol, putting up 1080 rated rounds like they're easy.

Plus Ledgestone's typically one of the bigger paydays.

I just assumed he'd be in the mix this weekend.

According to ultiworld, he tweaked his shoulder during warmups at last week's event

According to his Instagram he had a rib pop out of place (which may or may not be related to the tweaking of his shoulder) during warm ups before the last round in Estonia. He was asking around for Chiropractor recommendations in the Chicago area on Instagram the day before he withdrew.

Confusing OB stake positioning on Sunset hole 14 giving no indication where the painted line meanders. Check out FPO R2 on Ohn's drive. Shouldn't lines always go in a straight line from stake to stake, or bow out toward the OB direction?

This?

I don't think it's a problem. Technically, the stakes don't define OB.

Also, most people can envision a smooth line connecting points. If the stakes weren't there, a painted line with sharp corners could be more confusing.

What I find to be a more vexing concern is the hole-specific wording for #14.

Which would mean the OB starts way over to the left.

Yes, poor design if the actual OB line bends into inbounds area versus a straight line between adjacent stakes, especially when the line is artificial on a uniform surface versus a terrain transition defining the boundary (such as the high grass line you mentioned). The comment in the caddie book that the stakes provide a visual aid makes no sense if their positioning along the line is misleading. The commentators were even surprised at how the line curved inward which resulted in Ohn ending up OB even though she would have been inbounds had the line stretched between the adjacent stakes which were visible from the tee. It doesn't look like that photo of Ohn was from where she went OB off to the right from the 14 tee.

What about Double G's mammoth roller on 16 during round 2, rudely interrupted!
Rollers are unpredictable...stay the hell out of the way!
I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but it sure seemed like he was trying to be cute by letting the roller come real close to him.

"802.03 Excessive Time A.A player has taken excessive time if they are present and have not thrown within 30 seconds: [...] 4. During which the playing area remains clear.

"803.01 Moving Obstacles B.A player is not allowed to move any obstacle on the course, with the following exceptions: [...] 2.A player may request that other people move themselves or their belongings.

"812 Courtesy A. A player must not: 1. Throw if the throw might injure someone or distract another player[.]"

Bold added.

Roller spotter guy was almost certainly "trying to be cute" but still was positioned out of bounds. if there were a thousand spectators lining the fairway and the shot struck one of them while OB would there be equal whining over it?
The "trying to be cute" bit is what takes the cake. He fact he had ample time to walk away but instead positioned himself in the way of the disc to 'be cute' puts it into the category of intentional interference, imo.

He might as well have had a hulu-hoop and tried to get the disc to roll thru it but accidentally hit him.

Nope, not the same thing.
When a disc goes into a crowd and someone gets hit it's because the entire group can't suddenly get out of the way. A single person can just back up or move in any direction to get out of the way if they choose to, which the spotter did not do.
Did this spotter do his best to avoid the disc?

This is a 21 second clip of the spotter getting hit. (please delete if this violates site rules)

Also, no painted lines around the water.View attachment 347003
...or string which is better for both delineating a line and for the environment. No reason to effectively dump all that paint right in the lake. IMO if the PDGA is serious about it's "green" initiative using paint to mark lines should be one of the first things to go.
