Lost Disc Mega Thread: Post your lost disc questions and stories here.

@lee76007 That's a bummer. Have only lost one disc this year. Pink DX Wraith at Ionia State Park DGC. Forget which hole. Pulled a Richard, & grip locked the heck out of it. Hope you find yours or someone gets them back to you.

Well, 4 of the 6 may of reached the Atlantic Ocean by now. The 5th in a deep lake. The 6th I keep peaking in the bushes, but likely found by now if someone was foolish enough to go bush diving. A couple of years ago I treated a snake bite victim on the same course. I know where not to be foolish.

6th disc of the year last month Waller Mill Williamsburg Virginia an Electron Envy, on a heavily wooded course with death putts and approaches. Long to long is 9700 feet, and I've never had a birdie on a par 3. #9 hit a tree at about the 260 foot mark, had to go for the 70 foot putt. Missed right, down the embankment and into the lake. 3rd putter lost on the hole, 6 putters lost on the course in 4 1/2 years.
Going for a 70 footer from above that basket would never even cross my mind. Pretty sure Hole 2 is the only Par 3 out there that I have birdied L-L.

Had a wild one today. Almost lost a disc on hole 4 at Tower Park dgc. Knew the area where it landed but didn't see it come to a stop. Started looking everywhere in that area. After 5-10mins was getting discouraged. It's a fairly open fairway. Also, the disc was blue. Had another player catch up to me & help look. Tells me one time, he had a disc wedge in between two tree branches. When he got to the tree it was gone. Said it was like the tree ate it. I figured the disc just unwedged itself & maybe rolled away after it fell. Either way, shortly after this story I catch a glimpse of blue. And where I see this blows my mind. It was in a tree! The tree was partially knocked over & the disc was inside the base where the tree cracked open. So weird. One of if not the craziest spots one of my discs ended up from a drive. It won't let me upload video. Here's a pic though to help paint the picture. I don't understand how it got in there.View attachment 346243
That's unbelievable! I would have walked past that all day!

I think a lot of people would walk past that several times without ever seeing it. Looks like one of those that you got to see from just the right angle, otherwise you'll never find it

Had to do it for the first birdie on L to L. It was a beaten up used putter for the risk of losing it. I have made two birdies S to L, the first last year C3, and again this year C2. I no longer go for C3, I'll just toss it short.

No. 2 that's impressive. As a LHBH it should play well for me, but I normally end up in the gully. I've ran a few C3 and C2 but theirs always tree blockage.

No. 4 L to L plays the best for a birdie, a handful from C2 including the same round I lost the putter, just a little short. A couple of years ago my putter rolled to No. 5 short tee, it sucked coming back up the hill for a double. The hole is harder for me S to L, my last visit a rare par.

All the other Par 3 are too long.

First two goners of the year- VIP Sword off to the thick forest on the left on 8 and Champion Mamba somewhere out into the thick field on 18 at Muddy Run. The Mamba may come back, but unless someone else shanks one as bad as I did off 8 I'm going to never see that disc again.

A group was looking for a disc ahead of me. They let me play through. Not the best throw & end up off the fairway. As I walked up guy starts showing me where I went into the rough. As he's doing so, he finds his disc. Thanks me for my less than stellar throw & I play through. Good times.

I guess playing more means losing more discs. Left my Star Invader behind today. If I don't get it back that'll be three gone forever this year. I think I'll stick to Harps and Pilots as my flick upshot approach discs for now.

Unfortunately, that's true. You might find purchasing multiples of golf discs that suit your game to take some of the sting of loss out. Also don't totally give up on a disc or two returning. Has happened both quickly (days) and not so quickly (years) for me.

Managed to go three months without losing a disc, but have lost three the past 2 1/2 weeks. For a total of nine this year.

#7 a Fission Wave at Waller Mill Williamsburg Virginia two weeks ago. From the long tee #7 an elevated tee to an elevated basket across a creek with heavy tree line. A tree kick passing out of sight to a deeper portion of the creek. Hadn't lost a disc on the hole in at least two years.

#8 a gstar Mamba this past Monday at Bennetts Creek Suffolk Virginia. #13 middle tee elevated crossing a swamp to a fairway elevated a little higher. Early release skipped off a tree just off the tee, and into the swamp. First time losing a disc off that tee.

#9 a Proton Virus this morning New Quarter Park Williamsburg Virginia. #12 long tee elevated crossing a ravine on a difficult dogleg, heavy tree line to a ridge elevated higher. Crossed the fairway, tree kick behind a Wall of trees out of sight further down the ravine wrong direction. Layers of dead leafs, no clue where it could it be. Ticks and chiggers, no thank you. In 4 1/2 years and about 30 rounds, first time losing a disc on the course, I had been lucky.

Earlier in the month

#10 Fission Wave matching lost disc #8 Bennetts Creek Suffolk Virginia #13 middle tee late release clipping a branch into the swamp. Back to back disc loss, previously having never lost a disc on the tee before. I'm going to be paranoid on my next visit.
