I went to shoot a few rounds at a Haley Nelson Park DGC in Burnet, TX today. Sunny and 70 degrees. What's not to like, right?
Just as I got started a couple of folks with a bagpipe (yes, a bagpipe) started tuning it at a picnic table in the middle of the course. Not playing, just tuning it. So I got to listen to a series of squeals, shrieks, and other god-awful sounds that sounded like a sadist torturing about a dozen cats, but worse.
I can hardly stand to listen to a bagpipe when it is played well, let alone played badly. My theory was that if they'd done this at home the police would have been summoned and the "artist" arrested. Rightly so.
I never thought about putting earplugs into my DG bag, but I may just throw a pair in there.
