Brand new and ready for you 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 10, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

18 new DISCatcher 28s (9 Red-9 Gold/Yellow) for 4 options on each fairway (36 total) through a stand of cedars, mature live oaks, pines & sweet gums.
Brand new 5'x12' very grippy concrete pads on most tees. 3 trapezoidal pads (#6W&B and 8B) plus a "Chevron" shaped tee on #8W for completely different run-up angles and throwing lines.
Restrooms open during park hours. Water at restrooms. New High-Pressure Laminate tee signs with Alligator-themed background and all 4 distances on each sign. Signs mounted @ 45* on fence posts, which are color coded (White & Blue) and should last 20 years.
Disc golf area is exclusive to disc golf. No other hiking trails or recreational amenities in the dg area.

Cons:

Parking is around 400' past 1st tee on left. County currently considering parking by holes 2 & 3.
White to Red layout is pretty challenging for beginner players.
Some may consider the tee pad surface to be too rough. But after a year or 2, they should wear-in nicely.
No DOGs or alcohol allowed in park. Bring bug spray. Park is CLOSED ON MONDAYS!! Park closes @ 5:30 pm Standard time and 7:30pm on Daylight saving time.

Other Thoughts:

Located at the front of the 1000 acre Alligator Lake park, on Country Club road, the 12-ish acre area easily accommodates 9 nicely manicured holes with dual tees (White & Blue) and dual baskets (Red & Gold) on a sparsely wooded area to the right as you enter the park on Alligator Glenn road.
There are several miles of hiking trails, including a big loop in the middle of Alligator Lake.
Current parking is on the left, roughly 400' beyond Hole #1s tees. Do not park on the side of the road!!
#1: Short opening hole from open to tunnel into woods.
#2: Long par 4 with viney barrier at landing zone. Gold pin straight through cedar alley. Red pin to right with 2 lanes.
#3: Very short finesse shots with White & Blue tees connected.
#4: Shorter par 4 with mini-creek in fairway as O.B. Fence along road to right also OB.
#5: White tee is open. Blue tees from woods tunnel. Red pin is elevated on some boulders. (#7 Gold pin is also somewhat visible from the #5 tees) (A bush will be planted to obscure the view)
#6: Several options from either tee to both (blind) baskets. CAUTION!! #8 Gold pin is visible from #6 White tee. DON'T THROW AT THE #8 GOLD PIN!! (A bush will be planted to obscure the view)
#7: Long par 4 from the NW corner of the course, from open to an alley between trees to open again. Red pin in the open. Gold pin is through a wooded alleyway.
#8: An extremely versatile hole! Each tee has multiple fairway options to the widely separated pins.
#9: Bordering a swamp, #9 takes you home with a well-shaped hyzer or anny-flex. Red pin left into the woods. Gold pin in clearing within view of the #1 tees.
In phase 2, (if we get course parking and/or a back 9) hole #1 will reverse and become #9. Hole #2 will become #1, and all subsequent fairway #s will change accordingly.
Alligator Lakes is not a pitch-n-putt course!
Bring water & bug spray!
