Big guns WANTED!

Reviewed: Played on:May 27, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

The property is expansive, rolling, rural and quiet. These positive attributes blend well for dg course. The round is long and hilly. The designers get a gold star for looping 9's. The tees are excellent. The amount of grass to cut is enormous and in good shape.

There is abundant opportunity to maximize the long bomber throw.
There are four wooded holes with the balance open to semi open. Most of the pins are protected by trees or placed in wooded coves. The challenge of many of the holes is the placement of the long drive. If the disc doesn't lie within the boundaries of the cove, the approach shot increases in difficulty. A few holes reverse to a tight lined tee shot to open basket.

Cons:

There is no map, tee or directional signs. I did not play the holes in order. Without a guide, there are several spots where it's near impossible to find the next correct tee. I did not lower the rating for these issues because the course is new and I expect them to be corrected in time.
There is a repetitiveness from the tee shot. There are no hyzer and only one anhyzer throw off the tee. I long bomber throw between 10 and 2 o'clock is the prevalent shot.

Other Thoughts:

This is welcome addition to the dg community of the area. Great place to work your long game. However, It does not have the dramatic holes of Deis hill, or the fun factor of Oak Ledges.
Trees added in the appropriate places to many fairways would increase the course rating. It would be more aesthetically pleasing, define the fairways better and force the player to hit specific lines.
