Underrated 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 13, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Easy navigation and standard sized concrete tees. Fair lines on all holes, however, holes 6, 8, and 16 require extremely impressive drives to make 2's. Good mix of short and long as well as left and right turns. It tends to be a quiet place for a round and is never crowded. Probably as challenging as any other course in the area.

Cons:

Some signs are broken now. The reviewer is workung with the Parks Department on replacements. It apoears that some of the holes have been lengthened since the original layout so the distances posted are inaccurate on at least hole 14 and potentially more.

Other Thoughts:

With some work this course could be a 4.5. As it stands now, it's an under-played hidden gem.

Very Nice 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 20, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Heavily wooded

Nice mix of left, right, and straight shots

Lots of narrow, challenging tunnel shots

Some water hazards, and some well placed trees to make shots more interesting

The yellow banded Disccatchers which almost gurantee you see the basket

Majority of shots are quite short, only one par four as I recall, so lots of ace runs

Overall beautiful setting

Cons:

Lacks any wide open bomber shots, even hole four, which had a fairly wide open fairway and wasn't only 150 feet long still had a narrow window to hit before getting into the open. Great hole to play, but about as wide open as you'll get with the long shots here. The only par four has a pretty narrow lane to hit.

As others stated, I bet the bugs are bad here once summer hits full swing, knowing how they are around the general northwoods area.

Other Thoughts:

I absolutely loved this course, I've really grown to enjoy heavily wooded courses, so this one definitely is enjoyable. I almost aced about three times, so experienced players can expect some low scores with all the short shots. If you've ever played Brandy Lake in Minocqua/Woodruff, this course is VERY similar. The one thing is though your big arm won't save you here. Every shot must be extremely well placed, no big S curve nuclear length bomb opportunities here.
