Pros:
This course hasn't been reviewed much in a few years, and it seems like some old flaws have been corrected. I found it to be a very good course, playing from Blue (middle) tees to "B" (long) baskets in July of 2021.
+ Three sets of tees and two complete sets of baskets. The 6200' layout we played had plenty of challenges. There are longer Gold tees that change some holes substantially, while adding 2000'. The shorter Reds simplify and shorten the holes to make the course beginner-friendly
+ The course is mostly wooded, with some long open holes sprinkled in for variety. Fairways are not particularly narrow, but there are plenty of doglegs here, so the trees define the throwing lines and protect the greens
+ There's a surprising amount of elevation change on holes that play near the (substantially) raised soccer fields. Holes 8, 10, 11, and 12 are all designed to take advantage: considerable downhill and uphill throws, along with sidehill stances come into play
+ The signage is excellent (this seems to be a big change over earlier reviews). Each sign shows the lines and lengths for all possible combinations of the three tees and two baskets, indicates OB and other notable park features, includes topographic lines, and points the direction of the next tees. You really couldn't ask more from tee signs
+ Baskets have painted wooden arrows hanging below the cage showing the directions of the Gold, Blue and Yellow tees (often three different directions!)
+ Raised basket 8B is a nice touch
Cons:
- The "A" baskets are Mach 3's that look pretty old and rusty. I did not play them, so I don't know how well they still catch
- Much of the course plays near walking paths in this multi use park. More importantly, some holes have paths that cross the line of play
- One notable flaw in the design is that holes 13 and 14 cross each other playing in opposite directions. I played on a quiet day, so it wasn't a big deal. But on busy days these create some danger of throwing on other groups, along with very likely slowdowns to play
Other Thoughts:
~ Judging from pictures and reviews, it seems like mud can be a real problem after substantial rains, especially as you get closer to the soccer fields with the steep sides down to the course. The picture of hole #10 on this site show how dramatic the impact can be, creating a temporary "lake" approaching the basket
~ Not really a flaw, but it's worth noting that the layouts are so substantially different that you might have trouble staying spread out from other groups playing at the same time if they're not playing the same tees or baskets as your group. The Red tees and the A baskets are so much shorter that groups will be playing much faster than those playing the longer layouts
~ The strongest feature of this course is the multiple layouts for play, with each showing a variety of holes (wooded, open, doglegs, up and down elevation changes). There's something for everyone here, whether you're a relative newbie playing the reds, or you're looking for an 8000' challenge
COURSE AMENITIES:
Concrete and paver tees, excellent signage, "A" baskets are old Mach 3's, "B" baskets are newer DD Veterans. Very cart friendly. Big public park with lots of bathrooms and other facilities. Parking could be a little tight in the lot nearest the first tee on busy days
TL;DR
With three sets of tees and two complete sets of baskets, there's something for everyone here. Mostly wooded park course, with some long open holes sprinkled in. Excellent signage, easy navigation, concrete and paver tees, newer baskets (DD) are excellent. Holes near the soccer fields can get really muddy and flooded. Many holes have walking trails alongside or crossing. Great course if its dry and the park isn't crowded
