Great Little course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 29, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Off Road Parking available

Course map available

Baskets in Great condition

Great use of the elevation changes

Challenges both forehand and backhand shots.

Cons:

Grass tee's, very slippy on my visit

Not all tee posts in position (hole 2,5, 8 & 9) - however it was easy to work out where I was meant to be by looking at the map.

Other Thoughts:

A really fun course, with great views. Set around 3 rugby pitches with a public footpath through the middle too, I can see this area being busy at certain times of the day. However Sunday afternoon I had it to myself

Hole 1: A downhill tee, which throws across the corner of the rugby pitch to an uphill basket surrounded by young trees. A deceptively short hole, which is made harder by a strong wind blowing over the ridge.

Hole 2: Tee off from between the 2 rugby pitches, there is no post (probably health and safety) so look for the white spot on the ground. Basket is on the ridge ahead under the trees. Nice low ceiling for your putts.

Hole 3: Short hole, which plays to the edge of the playing fields. The slope drops away behind the basket. Be careful not to overthrow as the houses gardens are very close.

Hole 4: A strange dogleg hole. The fenced off compound has no entry gate, so any disc's on here are deemed OB. Basket guarded by 3 old trees.

Hole 5: I found it hard to work out the exact tee position (no tee post), basket is well positioned ontop of the ridge.

Hole 6: Elevated tee, which throws down to your right. Basket is close to the fence - beware of the stream which runs under the hedge. The long grass hides the edge of the bank!

Hole 7: Very muddy tee shot which is right next to the stream. Hole throws back up to the top of the ridge. Basket is perched on the edge of the slope. Any throw which is log will roll away a good 30-40ft.

Hole 8: no Tee post, but easy to work out from the map.
Throw from the top of the ridge, down 2 tiers of the pitch to the bottom corner. Beware you are throwing over the footpath so I suggest a spotter off the tee.

Hole 9: The tee appears to be from next to the long jump pit, however the tee post has been cut to a stump.
Hole throws straight over the rugby pitch so if a game is in play this hole will have to be played differently.

Overall I really enjoyed my visit here.

Pros:

real baskets (quite rare in UK at the moment) great for a swift round, easy to get around on the well kept rugby pitches

Cons:

in a private school can't just rock up and play

Other Thoughts:

great little course that I enjoyed playing even in the rain, cos the ground is well drained
