Pros:

This is a worthwhile stop for adventurers heading to Boothbay for a weekend, and can be a quick course. It's not your run of the mill course as most of the holes are relatively tight and there are elevation changes aplenty. Full 18, well marked, not crowded when I have played. I played it brand new, it needed some work. It's fairly trimmed back and nice now. It's just built to be tight.

Don't plan on whipping out your 13-speed distance driver and just bombing the course, speed kills here. I loved this fact. I would out-drive friends at big wide courses like Enman in Brunswick, and this course favors a bit of restraint and a lot of aim. People I beat by 9-12 are within 3 against me here. It makes it fun on the competitive front.

Cons:

The times I played there were wet areas, but you just have to see them bad avoid it. There seemed to be a good bit of detritus, but I'll admit that's vs the places I usually play: Sabattus (where you could eat off the fairways) Acker's (which has a strong following who is proud of the course and respects it) and Cripps (which is new and amazing). Pros will feel bottled up here, and rookies will be devoured by the tight fairways and elevation changes.

Other Thoughts:

This course is legit, and a fun departure from wide open and crowded. 3.5 isn't meant to be critical, I've played worse but I also often play the best (see above course mentions). They do a good job and I'd recommend playing there to all my friends.
