Probably my least favorite course in dfw 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 6, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

location, fairly close to most of dfw. new baskets recently

Cons:

I just hate the layout, the course has no natural barriers (for most of the course to block winds), which become worse as the wind picks up. The area is trashy with people and water is toxic. I just hate this course. I'll probably never play it again.

Other Thoughts:

So many better options in the area. They keep trying to make it better but its like polishing a turd. They added extra holes that dont have tee boxes and realliy arent that great. the course hosts try to keep it up but its just crap. Audobon, which is fairly close by, is a much better course over all.

If you live in Dallas County, this course is pretty fun 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 10, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Nice variety of holes
- The back nine has some good elevation changes

Cons:

- Baskets are old and need some restoration
- Course layout is not ideal, signage showing you to next hole doesn't exist;
- Neighbor is sketchy, personally saw some one doing intravenous drugs in their car in the parking lot on my final trip.
- The course layout changed at one point but some of the hole signage is still with the old layout, which is confusing.

Other Thoughts:

The first time I played this course, I spent a good amount of time just trying to figure out where I was going. The course overall is pretty fun, there are some cool shots on the back 9, especially the one where you throw off of a bridge. However, the first time I came to the course, there was someone getting arrested in the parking lot. The second time I came, I was accosted by a homeless person who was irate I had no cash on me to give him and the third and final time I came I saw someone shooting up in their car. I felt uneasy most of the time I was here, and will not be returning to this course. Which is a shame because that back 9 is really fun, even with the crappy baskets.

If the safety issues can be resolved and the baskets are replaced, this course could be a gym.

BB Owens 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 7, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

My three pros:

-Concrete tee pads throughout
-Decent use of minimal trees and elevation
-Many of the holes seem to favor forehand throws which is my preference

Cons:

My three cons:

-Even with a map I still got a little confused with so many baskets and tees close together
-Several somewhat lame holes including a super short #4
-Even on a wednesday morning there were a couple other groups out there so I could imagine how busy and crowded it could get at peak times

Other Thoughts:

After reading the reviews before playing I couldnt help but keep looking in the woods for someone sketchy to pop out, but i saw no homeless folks or other nefarious characters about. In fact some of the woods looked really cool to check out but i was a little weary about going off in the woods after what others had posted.
I might have liked the course more if not for the terrible round i was playing which included no birdies even though several holes are easy 2's... I might like it more if i had a better round, but there's nothing special that would really make me want to go out of my way to try it again.

A Sad Little course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 12, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

18 Holes. Concrete Pads.

Cons:

Poorly maintained/vandalized. Holes are crammed together. Poor flow from hole to hole. Could not find a couple of holes due to no signage, confused layout. Right next to two major roads.

Other Thoughts:

This is a sad little course. They tried to cram 18 holes into too small a space and it does not work. It needs some serious upkeep and upgrades. I would rather drive a few extra miles to have a better experience.
