This short, 6-hole course loops around the back of wooded church property intended for recreation and outreach to the community. Holes range between 115 and 225 ft. in length and offer two sets of natural/dirt tees (blue and white). The course features a small hill on its middle holes and a tiny pond on the final hole.

EVAL
This short, secluded, kid-friendly, introductory course is actually quite inviting to throw thanks to its many trees and elevation changes. The design makes enjoyable use of the terrain to explore paths around and through trees as well as along the slope of a small hill with a surprisingly steep backside. The layout flows well around the property and even feels a tad expansive despite its small footprint, especially considering its close proximity to neighborhood homes which back up against fence lines on three sides of the course.

While limited to only six pitch and putt style holes, the course still features a decent mix of hyzer and anhyzer throws, a tunnel shot in woods, uphill and downhill throws, both narrow and wide shots plus a tiny pond (if it's not dried up in summer months) to add to the challenge and aesthetics. All these little thrills play in roughly 15 minutes (even throwing both tees simultaneously), making for an enjoyable round to test short game putts and approaches. Repeated play just begs for imaginative safari golf to incorporate the many nooks and crannies scattered about this property.

NOTE
The disc golf course is a featured amenity of the BCBC Outreach and Recreation Area, covering 4 acres in the back of the church property. As part of the "Back 4 Project" for this land, disc golf currently shares space with a garden onsite. Plans for additional amenities to be introduced in phases include a children's playground, walking trail, fire pit and pavilion area for picnic gatherings plus an activity court for basketball, tennis and pickleball.

LAYOUT
The first hole plays beside the drive that circles the church and along a mostly open route bordered by trees to the left except for an imposing, brick dumpster enclosure in the fairway (white tee) which must be thrown over or around. Holes #2-3 line up perpendicularly to the first hole and lead to the back of the property with hole #2 dipping into and through woods and hole #3 climbing a short hill surrounded by trees close to the rear fence. Hole #4 plays past trees along the top of that same small hill at the rear with steep roll away potential for missed throws. Hole #5 follows along the tree line marking the western edge of the property with either a narrow, level flight (blue tee) or downhill shot (white tee) to a protected green. Hole #6 returns towards the start and throws either beside (blue tee) or over (white tee) a tiny pond ringed by trees.

I actually had a blast playing this course. After playing the "Blue" course, I figured I would go ahead and play the "White" course. Glad I did as most of the looks were different really making this a 12 hole course with 6 baskets.

You will not need a driver as none of the holes are over 300ft. In fact 6 of them are under 200ft and the other 6 are between 200 and 250.

So like I stated above, this is a great course for the church youth group to use or to bring new players out. Even the family.

Or, just have some fun throwing the course. There are enough tree's and interesting shots to make this a fun little course to throw.

Would I play here again? Actually I would, I enjoyed my round and had a blast to tell the truth. As far as church courses go, this is one of the better ones I have played in that it is a good course for the church to use for it's congregation.

Would I play this course to challenge me? Nope, just throw it for fun and ace runs. It's worth a stop at least once, take your upshot disc and putter and have some fun as you can play 6 holes in about 15 minutes if you don't throw it off the fairways.

Bear Creek is a great course for what is intended for. The target audience of beginners, perhaps kids for Sunday kids and introduce the sport to people. Course has great baskets, easy follow navigation, and some elevation. The tees are designated with colored stones in the ground. You may have to look for a couple minutes but it is a small area so pretty easy to follow. You get to end the round with a nice putter shot over the water.

Really short course so not much of a challenge. Holes 3 and 4 over lap a little bit where the tee pad is in the middle of the fairway.

Short, fun, little course that introduces the game to others. The course makes use of the land that is available in terms of pin location, elevation and water shots. This is definitely not a destination course but if you are in the area it great for a quick round.

This course is designed to be kid- and family-friendly. All 6 holes are in the 175 to 240-foot range. There is some elevation change making for some fun shots. Good use of available obstacles to shape shots.

Tees are marked by landscaping stones with hole numbers. Current locations may move as work on the course continues and tree trimming is done.

Hole 2 has a long pin position that is on a really fun putting green!

Baskets are top of the line, Innova Discatcher Pro28s with Blue Bands and white lettering that really pops.

This course is great for beginners, families, and intermediate players. Even advanced players will enjoy this course for some upshot practice and ace runs!

Bear Creek Bible Church hosts Trail Life and American Heritage Girls, along with Vacation Bible School, and the youth group. Many youth and folks new to the sport will have the opportunity to be introduced to disc golf here. The course makes for a wonderful opportunity for growing the sport, and of course, relationship building and community.

Some baskets and tee boxes are in close proximity to one another, but considering that this is not a high traffic course it is not an issue and allows for greater use of the available space (4.5 acres).

Concrete tees are not installed yet and are probably a few years down the line as other amenities, such as a fire pit, gazebo, pickleball court, and playground are in the works for the central area of the park.

Tee signs will come eventually as well, once the park is completed and a more permanent layout is established.

Tommy and Sue Brown DGC is less than a mile away as the crow flies for another 6-hole beginner-friendly course, making for a good 1-2 punch combo if you're in the area.

-- A very good course to introduce people, especially children, to the sport. Holes are mostly around 200 feet with some trees to navigate, but not much in the way of rough.
-- Three tees per hole. Most create different lines.
-- Easy to follow even though there aren't any navigational markers.
-- Considering the short distances, most of the holes are interesting. One is a straight shot over a dumpster with parking lot right and bushes left of an open fairway from the white tees, but the blue and red take the dumpster out of play. Two is a RHBH hyzer to a protected basket down in a small depression. Three is uphill with a steep drop-off behind the basket. Four is also uphill with a tree in the middle of the fairway. Six throws over a small pond.
-- Doesn't overly favor RHBH or LHBH.

-- Course is pretty compact (even with only six holes), meaning some holes are too close to others. The worst are 2/3 and 3/4.
-- Natural tees. They are starting to show wear after three years.
-- White and blue tees are marked by stones in the ground of that color. Red tees are marked by red rubber flags on black rubber posts. The only information is the hole number. That's not much of an issue since you can see the basket from the tee on most holes, but distance would be nice.
-- No amenities, such as water, restroom or benches. For a 6-hole course, that's not a big deal.

-- Water was only somewhat in play on No. 6 with the tee left of the water. The white tee has you throwing directly over the small pond, and the red tee has you throwing over trees AND the pond.
-- When you turn into the driveway at the church, continue all the way to the end. The No. 1 tee and No. 6 basket are right there.
