Most open fairways in the area. 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Ill start off by mentioning that riding a golf cart around disc golfing was a blast, even though it cost me a few bucks. The course is greatly maintained, and has beautiful views nonstop. Avery Jenkins did a great job of designing the course to have minimal interference between disc golfers and ball golfers. The course has lots of very long holes. Coming from a player who had never seen anything other than a par 3 before, I was super intimidated. By the end of my round, I was able to pick up a few birdies and manage to avoid any double bogeys. There's also a practice basket by the parking lot. The distance may seem intimidating, but the A positons are totally playable by your average player. B positions suit the pros well.

Cons:

Don't bring a newbie here. The distance is just too much for a beginner player to deal with. The fairways are much wider and open than other courses around as I mentioned, so there really isn't that great of a need for precise shot shaping which can be a bummer depending on your style. If you struggle with distance it could be hard to get into the flow here. There are greens fees, but as the day progresses, they charge less, which is convenient. There are some challenging pin placements which could lead to some scary roll aways, but that's all part of the fun I guess.

Other Thoughts:

Worth the visit if you're in the area and struggle on the shorter more technical courses. Worth it even if you're a forest golfing machine, just be ready to really huck it. Stretch out before! lol

I Don’t Think Beau Pre DiscGolfPark Would Be Worth It Even If I Could Throw 400 Feet! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 24, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

$10 green fees and $14 = $24. For a disc golfer used to not paying, $24 seems a little steep. Although it was fun cruising around the course in the cart, it still is disc golf on a big wide expanse of golf course. From the A tees, the course plays at 7415 feet but from the looong B tees, it plays at 10,320 feet with individual holes playing at 825', 1110', 750', 1210'and 1020'. If throwing discs great distances over wide expanses of green grass appeals to you, you might enjoy this course. But if you enjoy all parts of disc golf such as shot shaping, you might find this course somewhat lacking.

Designed by Avery Jenkins as part of his DiscGolfPark program, one would need to drive like Avery to score well here. The course uses carpet tee pads and the cool DiscGolfPark baskets complete with sponsors. There are two baskets at each hole, the yellows baskets are the shorter A's while the white baskets are the longer B's. The signs are small laminated about 3" x 5". Sometimes they are a little difficult to locate. Luckily, the baskets have the next arrow pointing to the next tee.

In my humble opinion, many of the holes are just overly long and wide open. As much as Avery or any other course designer would try, golf courses have acres and acres of green, open grassy lawns.

# 6 actually plays at a shortish 250-390' and the basket is set in some trees. # 8's basket is also set behind three trees.

I think # 13 is the signature hole here. It's a Top of the World type of throw, 830-1210 which plays down a long downward sloping fairway. It's really quite beautiful.

Cons:

$10 green fees.

$14 cart rental.

Long, open holes.

Very little shot shaping required.

Other Thoughts:

I think golf courses like this appeal to maybe 10-15% of the total of disc golfers and these probably are at the top of all disc golfers in regards to arm strength which equal distance. Anyone with an average arm or less would probably be less than thrilled playing here. I definitely fit into this category and don't need to be playing any more golf courses, unless I get another chance to Brooktrails in Willits, CA.
