I so wanted to like this course, but... 2+ years drive by

Pros:

+Free to Play
+Dedicated supporters and regulars whom maintain course.
+Pro Shop on grounds
+Multiple Pin placements
+Nice signage and arrows for hole layouts

Cons:

-Staff in Pro Shop were more intent that our party didn't steal discs than being friendly reps of Bellamy Park
-While baskets were in excellent shape they were very difficult to see (not painted or flagged).
-The course layout favors advanced players. Not for kids, beginners, or novices.
-The size and amount of trees is what Bellamy is known for. It is also why I couldn't recommend the course to other players. The majority of holes require advanced shot shaping. If this was the only issue it wouldn't be a problem. What was a problem was that because of the lack of clear lanes (too many trees) also required a shaped shot & LUCK to successfully navigate the course (and I played it during early spring when there was no leaf cover- The course in full foliage would become an even greater maze).

Other Thoughts:

I recognize that Bellamy has a huge and devoted following. It shows, you have great signage, excellent pads & baskets, no trash all on a FREE course! That is unheard of. I just prefer my round to be determined by my skill and the challenge presented by the course. There are just too few lanes and options that require you to execute good throws and luck to scoot by the trees to shoot par here. There is no question why 'The Woodpeckers' were borne here (Shout out to #1 and #2) In my opinion, Bellamy lacks Zen or flow and is not the ideal place for beginners to learn Disc Golf. That said I'm glad Bellamy is there, it's just know what your getting into when you take on that beast! :)

Pros:

No fee to play.
Most holes flow well and take up their own space.
Some interesting terrain with the slight hills and trees everywhere.
Good mix of hyzer and anhyzer shots

Cons:

atleast 3 holes very poorly marked including the first hole.
1st demoralizing for beginners with 99% chance of losing disk in the muck.

Other Thoughts:

I was very exited to try this course for the first time because I have yet to find a full fledged course in NH. So we get there pick up a map and we easily find hole #2, but where is #1?? Nothing more frustrating than not being able to figure out where the first hole starts and where the basket is. Once we figured out that the piping and rope across the gorge represented the first tee we skipped it anyways because the odds of losing a disk was very high. So we started on #2 and had some good fun until around hole 12 or so and we had no clue where to go. We saw a basket and shot at it, but were not sure if it was correct. This course needs better signage or less confusing tee and basket locations for a few of the spots.

A tough par 3 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 1, 2007 Played the course:never

Pros:

This course is heavily wooded and has a variety a terrain changes. There is a mix of annies and hyzers and a few straight a ways.

Cons:

The holes are mostly on the short side. There was an addition of a few holes and some of the tees were re-numbered, even with a score card the course can be tough to follow.

Other Thoughts:

The first tee is set up on the same side of the creek as the parking lot, it took me 15 minutes to figure that out. Next to the tee there is a bulletin board that sometimes has score cards.
