Pros:
If you're looking for an up-kept 9-hole disc golf course in a clean and orderly residential park that ranks above average, you'll find it at Benedict Park. The course essentially circumvents the park, which is a good thing for us disc golfers. In the middle of the park, you will occasionally find youth football and soccer practices taking place (weekdays around 5 PM), not to mention the kids crashing around on the small skate park in the northwest corner. The challenges on this course consist mostly of navigating through and around tree trunks and branches, save the wide, swift creek flows along the right side of the fairway on hole #2 and the skate park nearly in front of the tee on hole #6. Imagine throwing your disc over inexperienced airborne preteens at their neighborhood skate park. There are some technical throws required, especially on the low "tunnels" of trees at holes #1 and #5. Pin #9 is cleverly placed behind a tight, dark cluster of pruned trees.
Cons:
Brighton isn't exactly close to much else on the map (but to its credit, it isn't too awfully far from major civilization, either). The heavy use of the park's interior can be distracting. Wind can be a factor, as the park is essentially atop a hill. The creek is too deep and swift to find a lost disc.
Other Thoughts:
This is your average 9-hole disc golf course at a park. It will challenge you in surprising ways, but also won't turn away entry level players. It is by no means a place to be impressed, but it also will not disappoint.
