Pros:

Like most have stated, the baskets and signage are second to none. As a matter of fact, they just updated the signs making them even better. The ground is also spray painted with arrows leading you in the right direction. This course will test every shot in your arsenal!

Cons:

This course will test every shot in your arsenal! To say that the fairways are narrow would be an understatement. Honestly, this is not a course for beginners. This course will penalize any shot not directly down the middle. Bring a chainsaw!!

Other Thoughts:

If you're looking for a challenge, this is it. If you want a nice relaxed round of Disc Golf...seek another course! This one is a beast!!

Pros:

Variety of elevations, approaches and lengths, well marked and easy to follow

Cons:

No tee boxes, need a sign between 9 and 10

Other Thoughts:

Home course and after traveling and playing on some 3 and 4 rated courses, imo it's right up there in quality

Pros:

Very friendly people at Birch and you can play 24 hours a day during June and July. Disc golf is still a growing sport in Fairbanks so the course is never congested.

Cons:

The course is played on ski trails, so permanent tee pads are not possible. When wet the tee boxes can get very slick but playing in the elements is part of what makes the game challenging, so who needs a concrete tee box anyways? This is Alaska!

Other Thoughts:

Birch Hill is relatively narrow with the exception of the first two holes. Wide variety of holes for different throws including two holes that have 2 fairways letting you choose the route you desire. Check out the course in late September or in early October and you may have an opportunity to play at night in the snow as all the holes are lit up with light system.
