I traveled further to play this course instead of Clear Creek. I was not disappointed.
This course is located on private property and is pay to play. Overall, it is a beautiful course and I had a lot of fun playing it. Upon arrival, the first thing you will notice is the gift shop that is right next to hole 1. Inside, they have discs for sale and a few other disc golf-related items. They also have drinks and food available.
For nearly all of the front 9, you play in the open, with the baskets being tucked just inside the wood line on the sides of the fairways. Seems like a lot of them were right doglegs from what I remember. These holes were fun bomber-style holes, but make sure you stay on the fairway because there is some thick ass rough on most of these holes.
The back nine+ is all in deep woods with some decent elevation changes. Seems like more of these are straight ahead or left doglegs.
The design is mostly balanced lefty/righty and is above average. I wouldn't say it's great design, but I certainly wouldn't say it's poor either; hence, why I gave it a 3. Overall, I found it to be as short course and that's even with me playing from the longs. I found myself wishing for a few more longer holes.
The scenery is above average. It's clean and well kept. There's slight rolling hills throughout. There's evidence of it being a farm all around you. People appeared to be working on the farm all around us as we were playing, which is unique.
Tees were large enough and there's two sets of tees. They are gravel though and I guess I would expect concrete for $5 a round. That said, I didn't have any problems using the tees; i.e., no slippage. The gravel pieces are small so the tees were remarkably flat.
Signage was above average. Metal signs on every hole with distances posted. Signs took a ding for no hole map on them. Not a huge deal if you grab a scorecard at hole 1 which has a map on the back.
Navigation was a breeze, especially with the map.
My overall impression of this course is that it is a fun course to play, especially as a novelty course. That said, I wouldn't drive 2 1/2 hours again to play it. As you can see, I've rated it 3.4 (rounding to 3.5), so that says a lot about it.
