One of the Most Unique 9 Holes Out There 2+ years

Cons:
- some rough is pretty rough, this course is off the beaten path a bit
- some built in steps, but a lot of steep terrain that could use some more, gets a bit hazardous
- hole 7 is almost too easy due to short length
- course doesn't end very close to parking lot

Other Thoughts:
Wow, Brickyard impressed me. I think this might be my 2nd favorite 9 hole course after Campton Hills in Illinois. While some spots of rough were pretty thick, the course was generally well maintained, had great signage, and great amenities, from the practice baskets/warmup hole to the benches, next tee signs, etc. - about all that is missing is bathrooms.
The highlight here is the huge elevation change. If this were an 18 hole course with a bit more length on some of the holes I'd probably be rating it a 4. There is fantastic natural beauty, and this seems like a pretty quiet, less played course that you'll have to yourself. I was playing early in the morning so it may fill up more later in the day, but I kind of doubt it. The downside is there's just about nothing near this course. I hit it on the way home from Minneapolis on a road trip, but you kind of have to be in the area for some reason.
Some of the tee signs were a little beaten up, especially hole 9, but otherwise the course was really in good shape and has been well maintained. Some holes were a bit short, but generally the technical challenge and elevation change made up for that. Since there are 2 tees and 2 baskets per hole, generally, there are lots of ways to play. Hole 7 was the weak one for me, with a distance as short as 133 ft. depending on tee/basket. You shoot over a very deep ravine, but unless you really botch it, you're just throwing to an even height plateau on the other side. Of course, to get there, you have to walk all the way down and back up!
I think the other biggest con is how you end up a ways from the parking lot after hole 9 and have to hike back. I think the course designers could have found a different way to handle this, but it's not that big a deal.
On hole 8, the distance markers for driving practice are a nice touch, but since they share the fairway with 8, you're only going to be able to use this if the course is empty. My guess is you'll get that chance, but you never know.
I really enjoyed Brickyard (and would honestly like to know where it got the name). I would stop for a quick round again if I was passing by, although I don't know when that would be. This course is definitely worth checking out and plays in 45 minutes or less, just be prepared for some hill climbing. One of the best for elevation change, especially on a 9 hole course.

Pros:
A diverse layout with massive elevation changes, techical shots and fauna in your path.
There are some bogs in play this time of year so there is that added challenge, and the views are fantastic.
There are multiple teea and baskets for every hole, and Appearantly they change the placements often(thank you they!).
Many of the holes are well marked and there are log steps up many off the steep hills.

Cons:
It's just nine holes, though you can play at least 4 configurations of each hole so it's not so bad.
Holds a ton of water in places and the downhills that don't have steps are pretty slippery.
Not too many major cons, I played in the rain when it was getting dark with some discs I've never thrown before and it was still enjoyable.
Just wish it had one or two longer holes.

Other Thoughts:
Saw tons of deer, a huge groundhog and a big variety of birds. The locals are nice and the place is quite nice overall. The local guys said it floods badly in late spring so gotta look out for that.

Pros:
9 hole with multiple tees and pins offering a nice variety.
Concrete tees with maps and some nice landscaping work on most.
A lot of elevation changes.
Warm-up hole and practice baskets, including around-the-world markers on one.
Dog park nearby.
Well maintained, fairly nicely designed, and some of the landscaping work really makes it look nice.

The layout on a couple holes has you walking up or across fairways, but visibility is pretty good so people always see you.

Slippery, messing, and even a bit dangerous in some spots during the winter and early spring months.

Other Thoughts:
I love this course and play every time I'm in Menomonie, it pairs well with Wakanda or even Axldog out in Boyceville.

Secluded Rustic Course 2+ years

Pros:
This course is very secluded, expect to have the course mostly to yourself. It plays through a nice hilly/wooded area. They have dual tees, and a set of Yellow (short) and Orange (long) baskets that are both in the ground all the time. So really you could play 4x9 holes (36) for some variety; if not just playing all 18 baskets from the longer tees.
There are a couple very interesting shots that you won't see at most other courses. One of them is a nice short ace run through the woods, crossing over a little ravine... very cool. Of course, you'll have to go down and then up from the teepad to cross over to where the basket is. It is a really unique course and I would highly recommend it.
One of the baskets is strategically placed at the top of a fairly steep slope, if you miss long you may have a 10+ft. uphill comeback putt.
Hole 8 is a downhill bomber with 200', 300', 400' poles marking the distances. The long pin is somewhere around 500-550' if I had to estimate.
One of the holes is a short (~180-190 maybe), downhill shot through some tight quarters. Chances are you'll hit a tree; however, there are routes possible to the left, right, and one miracle lane straight down the middle. You'll be hard-pressed to leave the tee without throwing multiple ace runs on this hole - especially since you climbed that hill to get up there!
Cement teepads have been installed since I last played here. From the photos I've seen, they look like they are very nicely done with crushed rock borders around the cement as a means to control erosion.

This is literally a brickyard! You'll probably find a few stray bricks and some wheelbarrows around the area.

Pros:
Great elevation change for a wisconsin course. plenty of trees and obstacles. throw across a 75-100 ft valley. good length for a 9 hole course. plenty of pin locations.
Cons:
some areas can get fairly thick in summer and a bad throw can send you on a short search.
Other Thoughts:
hit or miss with crowds. usally wide open when school is out for summer especially am rounds.
