Pros:

Butterworth Park DGC is a nine hole course that serves as a nice short option in the area. There's lots of tough 18 hole courses around here but not much in the way of shorter beginner friendly courses. I wouldn't call this course beginner friendly, just not as brutal as some of the others nearby, also less holes.

The baskets are older Innova Discatchers. These are still in good shape and catch nicely. One basket and two pin positions per hole.

Concrete tee pads on every hole. These are on the smaller side but work just fine on a course like this. It's more about precise shots over power shots, so a lengthy run up isn't going to be needed. One tee per hole.

The tee signs are pretty simple but effective. Generic hole map showing both pin placements, hole # and par and distance for either basket. All you really need out here.

There's some solid elevation on this course and good use of the space available, especially the little bit of woods on the property.

The course is permanent, free to play and probably rarely too busy with so many other options in the area.

Cons:

Hole 3's fairway is getting pretty constricted. It's a tight tunnel shot with a pond deep if you go long. The line is extremely tight currently, to the point that going long almost requires a miracle throw. The forest is clearly taking back the fairway. The rough on this hole is pretty bad on either side as well.

Hole 6 has no legitimate line to get to the basket. I'm not even sure how the hole was supposed to play in it's prime. They'd be better off putting the basket down at the bottom of the hill it's on now. In the open grass area. It's an unplayable joke right now.

The flow is awkward. Lots of backtracking for being only nine holes. I'd definitely recommend bring a map if playing here. Not intuitive at all besides finding hole 1. Weird layout. After holing out on hole 4 you cross the bridge , walk PAST 5's basket about 200' along the road, then turn around a throw back at 5's basket with the pretty busy road lining the whole right side. Just not a good design here.

Other Thoughts:

Play it if you must, definitely not worth a drive to play. If you want the full nine hole experience I'd only play it when the leaves are off the trees. You may be able to play holes 3 and 6 like they were intended to be played over a decade ago. Maybe.
