Fun little course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 29, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Challenging for beginners and some intermediate players. Well marked wholes. Several of the wholes are in a senic setting. A couple of " grip it and rip it" wholes.

Cons:

Long walk from 9 the the car. Whole 9 has a paved parking lot next to it. One of my discs got a little scraped up as a result. Walk to 5 is long. They should put a shortcut through the woods.

Other Thoughts:

Fun course. I'll play it again.

Nice course with a little something for everyone 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

--Fairly beginner friendly
--Some more challenging holes for more experienced player
--Good signs and natural tees
--Nice baskets
--well maintained

Cons:

--walk to #5 tee, they should put in a bridge
--walk back to the parking lot from #9, again, a bridge would be nice
#8 and #9 are a bit boring... just wide open, "grip it and rip it" type holes

Other Thoughts:

I really liked this course, and if I'm on the west side again I will for sure be playing it... a couple of short holes (190-230) that play as par 2s make it nice for beginners, and in the same breath, #5 is an incredible dog leg right which is a tough par 3 (IMHO).

A very decent beginner's / intermediate course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 1, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

* Beautiful scenic park setting with a river winding through the course.
* All holes are mapped at the beginning of the course and again at the tee.
* Tees are clearly marked.
* All holes have their number printed on them. That makes things SOOOO much easier.
* Excellent use of available space.
* Perfect course for a quick game at any skill level.

Cons:

* Tees are dirt, so when the ground is wet it's difficult to get a run up.
* Because of space restraints some holes require the player to backtrack just a bit to get to the next tee.
* Despite playing in the woods trees very rarely come into play.
* More holes than you'd expect play straight from tee to basket.

Other Thoughts:

The Cahoon Creek DGC in Bay Village is an absolutely playable course that is perfect for a quick pick up game with friends. The course plays alongside a winding creek through a park that is lightly forested. I'd call the course perfect for beginning and intermediate players, who will appreciate being able to get at or near par on many of the holes, while more experienced players will find that it's by no means a pushover. Is this a Medina or a Hudson? No, but I'd say it's perfectly acceptable to put it on par with Willoughby.
