+Crazy amounts of elevation. No hole is truly flat and many have fairly extreme up, down, or valley style shots. This is not something that you would expect when you are approaching Fairmont from either direction on I-90.
+Very wooded but also very fair. There are always lines to the basket. Accuracy is truly tested here.
+Every shot is high risk/high reward. If you leave your disc up too high on a downhill shot, who knows how far into the rough it will get? You could go for that C2 putt but if you miss, what is your next putt looking like? You are thinking every time that you throw here. I was very proud of the 58 that I shot here. I had a lot of great approach shots that saved my score from being much worse.
+Some of the better tee signs that I have seen. They are full color, tons of detail, show both pin placements, show where the creek/bridges are, and show where the next tee is.
+Happened to run into the course designer out there and he said that they are installing QR codes that you can scan and it will show you a video of a drone flying the recommended flight path for each hole. Those will be on the tee sign posts. Such a cool idea and very helpful on a course like this where you can't see many baskets off the tee.
+Second set of pin positions are being installed soon. They are already on the signage but are not in yet. All holes are in B location right now. B location is plenty hard for most throwers and A is going to be a monster! I'm looking forward to playing those someday.
+A good mix of straight, right, and left holes. Despite none of the holes being super long, there are many holes where you need to hit a landing spot and then aim for the basket area. Landing a drive next to any hole on this course is an accomplishment. I think I only got 1 2 on the whole course! The design is really fun.
+Tee pads are concrete, good size, and plenty grippy.
+There is an active local club and they will take care of this course and it will continue to improve. Both of the other two courses on site are great and have evolved and gotten better with time.
+Baskets unique and are very nice. They catch as well as anything I have ever seen. See cons on the color.

+First of all, I have to say that anything listed here is a minor complaint and is what would need to be done to bump my rating to a 5.
-I wasn't a massive fan of the green baskets in the very green wooded areas.
-Could definitely lose a disc here. You will throw it into the weeds/brush and you will spend time looking. Plan on that. Really wouldn't be a bad idea to wear hiking pants when you play here.
-Some will complain about the lack of benches, trash cans, and water out of the course. There are a few places that you can sit like logs but not a lot of other amenities on the course. The main park area has these things but plan to bring your own water, pee in the woods, and sit on a log once you get out there.
-Some of the tees could use a broom to keep them clean. I think it was 13 that was on a slope and had a fair amount of dirt on it. It was all fine but that would be the next level, 5 disc course.
-Even with the guidance to the next tee on the signs, it would be nice to have more signs guiding players to the next tee. Sometimes you get lost in the beauty of the hole and forget what the sign said.
-Hole 18 might be my least favorite hole on the course. It is one of the longer, flatter, and more open holes. It makes sense to get the course back near the parking lots but it was a bit lackluster compared to the other holes.

+This park in small town Minnesota now has 3 great courses. I think that all 3 are now better than their ratings. All of them have changed layouts, added features, and have been well taken care of for a long time. Any disc golfer near here needs to spend a day (or a weekend) playing these courses. Most will rate all three courses 3.5 at a minimum for their least favorite up to a 5.
+I was traveling through and needed to get home to keep the wife happy. As soon as I was done, I wanted to go back and play again. This course is complex and I wanted to find all the lines and execute many of the holes better than I had just done.
+Despite being open for 3 years, this course will continue to get better and improve. I would guess that all the other ratings from 2018 would adjust their ratings up if they played again. This course is a true 4.5+.
+This course is definitely one of my favorite courses out of 400+. I think that I like it better than Bryant Lake and BRP.
+Already noted my least favorite hole above but here are my favorites:
1- Short and the basket is visible. A taste of what is to come all day. You want so bad to ace it but there are trees half way down the fairway to avoid. If you get by those, there are guardian trees surrounding the basket.
2- Back up the hill. Lines to the basket are plentiful if you can be accurate and gauge your power going up the hill. If you mess up on your drive, a perfect upshot will be needed to save a 3.
8- Elevated tee overlooking the valley. Basket about level with the tee on the other side of the valley. Beautiful hole to air it out over the creek. You must make sure that you know how your disc is going to fade or it could go deep into the rough.
15- Another downhill shot. The basket is around a slight left bend and then tucked into the right side of that part of the fairway. The basket area is a cool little island.

-Portable signs for each hole, I'd assume they plan to be permanent at some point.

-Concrete tee pads

-Plenty of elevation shots including uphill, downhill and across a valley. All making for a cool hole to walk up to

-11 legit holes containing a stream that is in play. These holes don't just line you up right behind the stream and have you throw over; the stream is in the distance bordering or through the fairway making it a legitimate concern on each of the 11 holes. Too often water on courses really doesn't play on the hole, which is not the case here. This water results in plenty risk/reward throws.

-Heavily wooded course which gives you more to be concerned about than just hucking a bomb shot out to an open basket as is the case in many park-type courses.

-Requires a lot of different shots and abilities. Newer players will likely get tore up out here.

-Although heavily wooded usually means shorter holes, the way these holes are set up does allow for the big arm guy to have a clear advantage on a few holes.

-Every hole presents a legitimate challenge that isn't identical to the other holes on the course.

-Beyond hole 18, I was excited to throw every hole I walked up to on this course. This course is peppered with wooded greatness. As a person preferring a bit more of a technical throw with scenery, this course absolutely quenched my thirst for something awesome.

-Brand new this fall, this course will only get better.

-Free to play and there are 2 other courses on the property.

-Bathroom on the property and plenty of woods to take care of any quick reliefs even with others on the course.

-Being so new, there is plenty of brush clearing and fine tuning to be done on these fairways. This course was plowed out of what was likely fairly thick woods and steep terrain. It takes time to get all the details fine-tuned. It should also be noted that a heavy duty wind storm had recently hit this course prior to me getting there. There were quite a few large trees and limbs laying in and across fairways, so distinguishing what blew down in the storm and what was left there after carving the course was very difficult for me.

-Its 2 hours from my house.

-limited garbages once out on the course, likely due to the terrain demands.

-Steep terrain is still in fairly rough condition and there are plenty of holes where footing going down the hills are a concern. Take your time and watch your step and it shouldn't be a problem however.

-This course will likely yield 2 distinct rating groups, meaning it generally will not satisfy 1 guy from the next in the same way. Guys who enjoy wooded/technical courses will be blown away by this course much like myself. However, guys who prefer more of an open layout tailoring more to a big arm would likely find this to be a 3.5 - 4 rating. No matter how you slice it, though, that still isn't a waste of time and I'm confident all will like what they see is going on out on this course.
Update: I played this course again last fall and must say that the maintenance on the course is clearly an issue due to the terrain and ability to access the holes. there are several holes with ridiculously long prairie like grass that make for a tough trek from the box to your disc. Because the hole isnt always reachable with a drive, often times you find yourself on a hot day walking through chest high grass. Not fun.
-If it has rained or a season with plenty of water this course can be a fairly sloppy mess down in the valley. Making some holes questionable to even play.

This course was a hidden gem for my group of players. If you enjoy scenic disc throwing over a deep valley with a stream winding throughout, you will enjoy the landscape this course has to offer. Beyond the landscape, the shot requirements out here are a lot of fun. As a guy who thrives on playing wooded courses like this, I can honestly say this is one of Minnesota's top wooded courses. It is easily comparable to Chain's Edge, except it adds 11 holes with a stream that is in-play. If you haven't been out to this course yet, get there immediately before this property is packed with disc golfers from all over. The other 2 courses on the property looked legit as well, but are not heavily wooded like this one and I cannot speak for them as I didn't have time to play them on this trip.
Update: All the above being said, after going to the course again last fall and updating my cons i did specify that the true course rating is more like a 4.25. If maintenance could be easily taken care of there is no doubt in my mind that this course is a 4.5, but this limitation of the terrain unfortunately will remain to be an issue out here.

This course is awesome. It has down the valley shots, up the valley shots, across the valley shots and each hole is unique and fun. There is a great deal of very technical shots, and the few that aren't still have a high level of difficulty with water hazards and a difficult rough. I could go on and on about this course, but the bottom line is this is a great course for anyone but beginners. The big arm guy, the very technical guy, righty's, lefty's, forehand or backhand.

Not much for cons besides the fact that there were no garbages, and there was a windstorm or tornado recently and there are a few big trees that need to be moved. Lastly some of the new tee boxes that were poured recently have not filled in around them so you need to be careful to stay on the pad or you could get hurt and on a couple holes if you go past it is a steep fall so be careful.

When I went I only had time for Central, but there are two other courses at Cedar Creek making it a great destination area for disc. This is possibly my new favorite course in Minnesota along with Chains Edge and BRP. It is a very hilly (as opposed to what the course description says is only moderately hilly) so bring your oxygen tank if you are used to flat courses and are not in good shape.
